When meeting up take sensible precautions. Meet in a public place and let others know where you are going. You can also meet mums on your local site here.

Any mums in Brockley/Honor Oak Park/Forest Hill/Sydenham/East Dulwich area?

If so, I would love to hear from you! I am a new mum with an 8 week old boy. I would love to hear from anyone who could tell me whether there are any baby groups in the surrounding areas or if anyone would like to get together for a drink and a chat, that would be nice too!

Look forward to hearing from you!

Hi Kimmy
I'm in Forest Hill but I'm a mum-to-be at the moment (due April) so I will watch this thread with interest! I think there are quite a few SE Londoners about so I hope they can help you out with baby groups and good advice!
Congratulations on your little boy!

pootlepod Wed 17-Nov-04 13:31:14

I am in Forest Hill too. Think there's a dearth of groups here though guess a lot goes on that I don't really know about! Thought of making my own group. Have 10mnth LO.

Good grief, where were all of you when I lived in Forest Hill???

Have now moved 10 mins away to Catford.

Raindog Wed 17-Nov-04 17:09:07

I've just remembered that an ex-colleague of mine lives in Forest Hill and has two small boys. I'm seeing her on 1 December so I shall take a notepad and report back!

Incidentally, does anyone know about NCT classes in the area?
Motherinferior - I think there might be one in Catford so I don't know if you know of them at all?

Thank you all for replying and introducing yourselves. Great to see so many SE Londoners on this board! Look forward to getting to know you all!

Hi Kimmy1974 et al

What about Camberwell/ Denmark Hill? - Any SE London Mnetters from this neck of the woods. Kimmy feel free to email me if you are interested in any of the groups (not many) that I go to in my area. I'm new to Mumsnet too (such a shame - wish I'd known about Mnet much sooner). I'm 9 months into a years worth of maternity leave and absolutely loving it (smile)

poppyh Thu 18-Nov-04 19:22:52

I live in Sydenham with a 22 month DD.I would love to meet up with other mums as apart from beckenham Tumble tots i dont go anywhere and Im feeling a bit lonely!

pootlepod Thu 18-Nov-04 21:01:08

Shall we be brave then?

Attempt to arrange a meet up?

poppyh Fri 19-Nov-04 09:28:25

yeah im brave if you are!!
Where abouts are you, where would you like to meet?

Kimmy1974 Fri 19-Nov-04 15:16:23

I will try and be brave too!!! I drive so could be persuaded to travel to a few places in the South East. Gosh, I've never done a meet up before - how nerve racking!!! How do we all know that we're not meeting up with some sicko old perv who's pretending to be a new mum? lol.... sorry, my mind can run away with me sometimes, especially now I have my little man.....

poppyh Fri 19-Nov-04 17:37:21

I too have never done a meet up and it is a bit unnerving!
I have a car and can travel too.Just need to think of somewhere child friendly to meet for a coffee.
Could try Horniman museum or dulwich Park cafe.
Any ideas?!

pootlepod Fri 19-Nov-04 17:55:45

Not a sicko old perv but often covered in sick!

Let's meet somewhere public, Horniman cafe/dulwich park cafe sounds good.

Am away for next few days so might not get chance to log on but am def, interested.

Kimmy1974 Sat 20-Nov-04 14:25:07

Both venues are close to me so happy to meet at any one. Let's wait until pootlepod returns and then we can try and set up a date and hopefully, more people will join in along the way!

At least we are all nervous and in the same boat - that's quite comforting to know!!! :-)

poppyh Sat 20-Nov-04 19:06:08

Great! That sounds good to me, I will check back after the weekend.

pootlepod Tue 23-Nov-04 19:02:59

So a date and time then...

Meet up for coffee/lunch?

poppyh Wed 24-Nov-04 09:20:45

I can do Weds or Thurs of next week,if this is any good.

pootlepod Wed 24-Nov-04 22:05:02

Wednesday better for me. Would it be an idea to CAT details from now on?

pootlepod Thu 25-Nov-04 18:02:33

Kimmy1974, poppyh has CAT'd me about next week. Are you still interested for a meet-up? If so, CAT either of us!

poppyh Thu 25-Nov-04 19:21:54

Yes Kimmy it would be great to get a few more people to come!

Kimmy1974 Sat 27-Nov-04 13:13:21

Hi ladies, I would love to come along but I can't make next Weds as I have to take the little man to the clinic. I can do Thurs though. If that's no good, could I please join you another time?

Also, I met someone from the internet for the first time this week. We've been in touch since we were both six weeks pregnant. It was so nice!!! It's given me great encouragement to meet others!!!

Sorry to sound dim but what does CAT mean?

poppyh Sat 27-Nov-04 13:16:19

Hi Kimmy,
A CAT stands for Contact Another talker which there is a link at the top of the page.It took me some working out too!!
If pootlepod can make Thursday Im willing to change, but if not we can all meet up another time!

bottle Sat 27-Nov-04 14:24:56

Kimmy1974 Sat 27-Nov-04 15:29:38

Thanks poppyh

We'll wait to hear back from pootlepod and I'll join you both at a convenient time for us all!

pootlepod Sat 27-Nov-04 21:08:33

Hi everyone,
Thursday's a bit tricky for me unless you could do after 3pm? If not, how about the week after?
