hi, i'm new and would love to meet more MNers in the flesh. I don't drive so would prefer Calderstones to Father Ted's or Speke Hall - or living in Central Liverpool, Liverpool City Centre/Albert Dock would be excellent because I am incredibly lazy

calderstones it is then! city centre isnt exactly child friendly in my experience, at least in a park they can run riot with no worries, theres also a cafe there so a good one for all. we'll see if anyone else wants to join us. how many kids u got and ages?

as you can tell i am a bit of a novice mummy (DS 4 months)so have not had to deal with marauding kiddies yet! DS is very portable atm - tho once he's a terrifying toddler I'm sure only macdonalds and pizza hut will take us . BTW I am also LoreleiLee on babycentre North of England.

how easy is it park at calderstones and which side of Liverpool is it. I would also need directions. That is if it is ok for an exliverbird to join up with you guys

well I'm only a Liverbird for the last few years (I am...whisper...a born and bred Manc!) so if we give each other moral support Gothicmama....
Calderstones is in South Liverpool, sort of in Allerton, off Menlove Road, which starts off at the junction of Allerton Road/Smithdown Road - sort of on the way into the city Centre from Speke/Airport. Pretty sure it has car parking.

Mummytosteven great idea. Sounds like it would be fairly easy for me to get to I live in Shropshire so it should be about an hour away will check out on route finder.

gothicmama - there are currently loads of roadworks on the Runcorn bridge, so you may need to allow more time to get there.

Report
gothicmama · 26/07/2004 17:14

I grew up in Formby - when something is definite will check wwithh AA or RAC re teh roadworks dd is usually good for about 1.5 hrs in the car will have to see

Report
alliwannado · 05/08/2004 15:57

that would be fine for me, Friday after the 27th? ermm what date is that? I haven't got any plans then so thats great! Is it Calderstones Park then? or Father Teds? has anyone decided? I tried Grandma's (next to Asda) its a big play centre........ thats an option too.... also the squirrel reserve in formby is lovely, also Speke hall is great.
I can go to any of them..... if we just get the date and time sorted then we are half way there

thats the 3rd september then?

I think Calderstones would probably be the best - LMO3 is not very local, so suspect Calderstones would be the best on public transport from Liverpool.LM03 -granmas is near Hunts X station - about 20 odd minutes from Liverpool Lime St on a fast train, Farmer Teds would be a train from Liverpool to Ormskirk, and a bus from Ormskirk. Not sure about how accessible Speke Hall is on public transport. will find out

Report
mummytosteven · 05/08/2004 17:09

Could we have the meet up at Granmas in Hunts X, as this is the easiest to manage on public transport with buggies of Ali W's suggestions?

thanx
