This is the biggest city near me - just wondered if there are any MN in the area?

I'm in Milton Keynes, and feeling a bit of an oddity! I'm 45 and expecting our second child on 10th April.

Hi
I'm also a bit of an oddity - expecting my 4th in October and having 2 teens and a 2-year-old already. I love every minute of it though. I only moved to MK last September so if anyone knows of fun ways to amuse little ones or places the teens may like to go then feel free to inundate me with them......please!

Also,

I have just purchased the annual pass for Activity Land at Knowlhill which will be really good value for us. Do any of you pop in there to let your youngsters let off steam?

ActivityLand is good in the nice weather when you can go outside - it's a bit noisy inside

Gambado is just around the corner and that's good as well

Gullivers land is a nice day out for young children

Baby gym at the Kingston gymnastics centre is very popular - pay per session for the littlies, pay monthly for bigger ones

not sure about teens - my kids are 7 and 5, the Xscape building and the Aerial Extreme at Willen Lake spring to mind.

If you have an MK map book, there should be a places to go and things to do supplement in it

also MKweb.co.uk is very useful for all sorts of information

Mead Open Farm is also good, but was absolutely heaving at half-term

I love activity land, and Mead open farm. We have as much fun as our toddler.

I've been feeling so alone, no family, at work temping so no chance to make friends really. A child and a pregnacy for us, was the result of thousands of hours research, 12 years of trying, 6 years of treatment abroad and thousands of pounds! So, often I don't feel like I have much in common with younger mums.

MMK, although I live about 45 mins from MK, I am in my forties with a baby due any day now. DS is 12, so quite a gap. There are quite a few older Mums here on Mumsnet. As for family both mine and DP's are abroad - plus parents are elderly..., so you are not alone.

DaveOhara - I alway know who you are {mad stalker emoticon}

Oati is my healthy living name in honour of WWW 10 yrs younger thread.

mmk - If you get the chance, do some baby/toddler activities to meet fellow mums - not all of them will be younger, and even if they are you will find ones that you get on well with.

Maybe join the NCT? I never did join, but I do know some people who made good friends there.

And I speak as someone who didn't start having babies until she was 40

Actually re-reading this thread,

everdecreasingcircles and mmk should arrange to meet up at Activityland - you both have toddlers and are pregnant - that's a couple of things in common already

Good idea Oati, I think we should do it.

We will go to activity land some time this weekend, anyone else free?

Good luck Bienchen- I hope you can make it to MK for one of these meet ups, as soon as the baby appears. How are you feeling?

I'd forgotten about NCT, I joined a while ago, and made some really good freinds, I'll definitely catch up with them again. Good thinking.
