Next meet up, Tuesday 4th September.
During the day, either Botanic Gardens in Durham or the Slug and Fiddle near the Gala Theatre in Durham City centre.

Now for some random chat.
DS sang a song about bolognaise today. And DD walked some more. But still prefers crawling and using my nipples as handholds on Mount Starbuck.

KaraStarbuckThrace Thu 27-Sep-12 19:50:24

Yeah, November could be good. Perhaps DD might actually sleep long enough for me to go hmm

ANother meet up can always be arranged!

Can someone give Viking Lady a prod, she has been quiet lately and I have a few more bits of non pink stuff to offload on offer to her <<grin>>

Indith Thu 27-Sep-12 22:09:17

Hope so! I feel your pain, dd kept me housebound for a long, long time. Thankfully ds2 is a rather more relaxed chap. Not that he sleeps but he can be resettled without milk for a bit and has taken expressed fine. He doesn't do falling asleep by himself but he isn't fussed about feeding to sleep either.

Course this brings a whole different set of sleep problems as he still wakes up a million times a night but gets cross with me if I try to shove a nipple in his mouth when he isn't hungry and instead he expects to be picked up and walked aorund the room til he falls asleep again. But hey at least dh can do that! Have attempted some shush pat type which was fine with no more crying than walking around entails but then he got a cold and his top teeth are thinking about coming through so we've abandoned it for now.

Dd two currently has matchsticks propping up her eyelids but insists she isn't sleepy. Evil mummy feels like letting her stay up till she keels over or takes herself to bed. Fingers crossed she sleeps to have ten tomorrow.

ishchel Sat 29-Sep-12 21:49:24

Evil cackle. She just keeled over.

Indith Sun 30-Sep-12 09:02:51

Kind of like William Friday night. Grandad came and he and dh went to a rugby match. Ds1 kept coming down with excuses ranging from "I need a drink" to "I'm bored" just to see if they were back. Then in the morning grandad told us how he was shaken awake at 11.30pm that night by ds1!

KaraStarbuckThrace Mon 01-Oct-12 10:16:09

Cake tomorrow, woohoo!

spiffysquiffyspiggy Mon 01-Oct-12 19:39:03

where do you want to go Kara? I have celebrating to do- Had interview today to be a deputy for the 2 managers the next grade up and I got it. It means I can cover for them when they are out of the office. It is a little extra pay when I undertake those duties but more about getting the experience at that job as it is the one I am particularly interested in. Woo!

Indith Mon 01-Oct-12 20:20:49

Congratulations Spiggy!

LeggyBlondeNE Tue 02-Oct-12 09:59:11

Hurray Spiggy!

Sadly, I've left all my money at home (and my plastic money) to no cake for me. :-(

VikingLady Tue 02-Oct-12 15:12:45

Congrats Spiggy!

Kara I've mainly been lurking recently, too busy with work (finally have some paid freelance work!) and family issues. But am back online again properly now.

I haven't made the recent meet ups for the same reason, plus it is hard work getting a pushchair on the train to Durham! I'll try and come to the next one though. Thank you fotr the clothes offer - V wears the blue dress you gave her pretty often, and looks gorgeous in it. And thank you Indith for the dungarees - ditto!

Too many "!" in this post. Need a gin. Is it too early for gin? What is a yardarm and how do I know when the sun is over it? grin

ishchel Tue 02-Oct-12 19:30:34

I hope cake was great. And luckily I didn't know before now as I'd have burdened you with guilt. While you were eating cake and smiling at babies etc, I was in a school with ofsted inspectors in presence.

oh well live to fight another day.

spiffysquiffyspiggy Tue 02-Oct-12 20:53:28

oooh not a nice day ishchel, hope you have some cake and beverage of your choice to help you relax.

Viking- I prefer to take the global approach and think that it is 5o'clock somewhere as I pour myself another

KaraStarbuckThrace Tue 02-Oct-12 21:26:44

Have you had a gin yet?

How about a meet up during half term? Would that work? Shall we see what the weather is like first so we could go to the Botanics?

ishchel Wed 03-Oct-12 17:11:35

Oh I need gin now. My insurance company is a shower of shite. And I just got off the phone with them.

I doubt I can do half term tbh but if something is planned that I can fit in, I will come. I am now a student again (distance) and I have a lecture in Northampton on the 3rd of Nov I believe. So will be going down the day before.

KaraStarbuckThrace Wed 03-Oct-12 17:18:46

What have your insurance company done? Or is it something they haven't done?

ishchel Wed 03-Oct-12 17:25:30

What they haven't done. I have comprehensive car insurance. they have been totally inept. minor bump on 10 July. Still driving a damaged car. Now going to write to the ombudsman. Now negotiating my new insurance turns out that since the claim is not finalised it is going down as a 'fault' till the other side accepts liability. so now my premium is higher. tossers.

ishchel Wed 03-Oct-12 17:26:39

But still lower than what they were charging me! still a result but still bitchin'.

KaraStarbuckThrace Wed 03-Oct-12 17:44:48

Hmmm... it's not Churchill is it? I had terrible problems with them when a drunk driver wrote off my car!

ishchel Wed 03-Oct-12 17:48:21

Mine was Kwikfit underwritten by Zenith. A pile of poo.

Indith Wed 03-Oct-12 19:25:24

Tosspots. I can't believe that is still going!

Indith Fri 05-Oct-12 15:57:00

Kara I keep adding stuff to your pile as I sort out piles of stuff, There are a few useful bits from dd for C. Next meet up needs organising!

KaraStarbuckThrace Fri 05-Oct-12 18:04:38

I have suggested half term, but could arrange one before then? Best days for me are Wednesdays or Fridays but with a little bit of notice I can do Tuesdays.

KaraStarbuckThrace Sun 07-Oct-12 18:47:54

Contacting my friend M who is due to start ML, hopefully can get her and her DD to join us in Durham!

FrozenNorthPole Sun 07-Oct-12 19:14:56

When's half term? x

KaraStarbuckThrace Sun 07-Oct-12 20:00:44

29th October, Frozen.

Can we do a meetup next week, i.e w/c 22nd?
M is free then. I can do any day but Thursday. Ideally don't want to do Monday, Tuesday I just need to check to see if CM could swap to Monday instead of Tuesday.. though it is tempting to think sod it and be able to eat cake in peace grin
