O.K this is my first attempt so fingers crossed I reach one person at least out there.

Anyone fancy a coffee afternoon in Solihull, or the new Bull Ring sometime in January 2004?

I look forward to hearing from you soon.

I'm in Worcester and don't drive (though fingers crossed i will be soon), but I would've loved to have met up . Hopefully I'll be able to get to a later one.

WSM - we should be able to get a train up to New Street Station from Foregate St or the other one (which I can never remember the name of) shouldn't we? Bull Ring isn't much of a walk from there.

Am happy to give you a lift into town (if you have a car seat for your dd that you can fit in the back of a micra, lol) but I have to say the thought of driving into Birmingham gives me kittens...

. Shrub Hill is the station you're thinking of G. I should think you're right about trains, I'll look it up on the rail site.

It would take between 45mins to an hour on the train for us to get to New St stn (Bull Ring is a few mins walk away apparently).

That's not too bad - we could always combine with a shopping trip while we're there

What are the buses like from our Tescos to the stations? Are they worth considering to save parking miles from the station (Shrub Hill carpark looks a bit small - might we have problems getting a space?) / if we have problems getting the carseat in (don't know if yours is a rear facing - the seatbelts in the Micra are a bit short)?

WiShuaMerryXmas · 17/12/2003 13:36

DD has a Britax First Class forward/rear facing seat, which we use forward facing. Not sure on the bus front, but I have noticed that they do a buggy friendly service now (orange line?) from the hospital. Failing that we could always just bite the bullet and split the £5 cab fare ?

GeorginaA · 17/12/2003 13:41

A dry run a couple of days before where we check the car seat fits or yes, go for the cab fare seems sensible.

Sorry, bubabubbles, didn't mean to take over your thread with logistics What dates did you have in mind?

Hi GeorginaA,

You're obviously very familiar with this mumsnetter. So please carry on, it allows me to read and get used to how and who people are.

I can do any day of the week, so I may aswell say Friday 16th Jan.

For everyone's info, The BullRing is across the road from New Street, not even a 60 second walk. and obviously ALL UNDER COVER.

How does that date suit everyone. I would prefer to meet in the morning. Say 09.30 onwards
My name is Caroline

The Bull Ring would be easier for me. Whenabouts were you thinking? If it wasnt the holidays I would have to keep dd out of school.

Georgina and WSM the Bull Ring is very very near to new street station (that would be my route too!) well the old one used to be there. Is it still in the same place?

Sorry buba, makes it feel a bit cliquey, doesn't it? I swear I only met her a few months ago - I moved here (a new area) and WSM was very welcoming

Um, this is going to get complicated isn't it... best day is a Thursday for me. I can do Friday morning but have to be back in Worcester for 12.30 (ds has nursery Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday afternoons and tumbletots on a Monday morning). I don't mind missing tumbletots for a one off much so a Monday is also doable. Nursery I prefer not to though where possible.

Obviously, go for majority consensus as these things never get organised otherwise! I can always come just for an hour or so then dash back again. Actually, thinking about it with a wriggly toddler I'm guessing that an hour or so is going to be the limit for a first meet up anyway

That's a point - when's half term next term? Might it be easier to organise then? Or perhaps organise a "childfree" evening out for the girlies where our dps are on babysitting duty

bubabubbles
hi thanks for posting this thread. Can't face the thought of Bham just yet.Ds only 4 weeks, wimpy I know! and dd has pre school but could definetely cope with Solihull if that's still an option. I'm in Kenilworth, don't know if that's any nearer for Worcester people or possibly Stratford, is that too far. Sorry not very good with logistics.

Hi there Clareabelle,

4 weeks old, how lovely, I am very happy to do Solihull and Birmingham.

So if you name the day and time then I can meet you in the marvelous Touchwood Centre.

For the other girls, if you prefer a date in school holls, that's fine, but you would have to let me know the dates! My ds is not a school yet, can you tell!

I'll come too, Thursdays/Fridays are best for me, eldest 2 go to after school club so don't have to be picked up until 6pm. Prefer Brum - easy to get to and I like the new Bull Ring.

Hiya ladies, I live in Tamworth and do drive and can get to Brum (don't like the new Bull ring) or Solihull, much prefer Solihull, then I can visit me Outlaws.

Thursdays are normally good for me, between 9.30am-11.30am, anytime after 4pm as DS is in Preschool 12.45pm-3.15pm.
