Jennifer Scott, a journalist with BBC News, is interested in hearing your thoughts for an online article.

The article will look at Nella the Princess Knight, a cartoon character arriving on-screen in the spring; the New York Times has more detail here.

Jennifer explains: "Nickelodeon, the company behind the programme, described her as 'an unconventional eight-year-old who possesses the royal qualities of a princess, like compassion and grace, while also embodying the courage and determination of a brave knight'. The bi-racial character, who has a black father and white mother, 'likes dancing at extravagant balls just as much as she likes meeting fire-breathing dragons.'

"We want to ask people what they think of the new character. Is it a positive move to have a young girl who is both knight and princess? Or are there questions about why she has to be riding a unicorn covered in pink to be brave and fight?"

If you're interested in sharing your thoughts, please feel free to get in touch with Jennifer at, today (i.e. Tuesday 7 February). We at MNHQ don't have any further details about this and Jennifer won't necessarily be monitoring the thread, so if you have any questions please do contact her directly.
