I’ve got to lose 3 stone after re-gaining 2 this year 🙄 realistically could the be done by June or am I kidding myself?

I don't know about low carb diets but try Watching 'The Game Changers' on Netflix (might be on YouTube too) - loads of examples of quicker weight loss than that on this diet. It's fascinating! I'm 5 years in, never felt better and never have to think about my weight anymore- win win!

Yeah you'd be done by June.
I always think 7lbs per month is about right if you stick to any weight loss plan.
Sometimes more, sometimes less each month but I'd say you'd be done within 6 months for sure.
Good luck!

I think it probably also depends how much you've got to lose overall. I joined slimming world on September 3rd and I've lost nearly 3.5 stone. Would you consider joining something like that? I'm really enjoying it, and it's a really healthy way of living and thinking about food (apart from artificial sweeteners which I avoid!)

I agree re: 7lbs per month - at least until you’re close to your goal weight. You might not get that every month but it should average out.

I lost four stones in six months on the old WW plan back in my early twenties and kept it off successfully. It took me a year to lose the final stone!

It depends on your definition of low carb IME. If you want speed then dropping sugar\sweeteners works very fast. I do eat whole carbs, rice, quinoa, spelt and rye bread but not wheat.

I also have a homemade seasonal smoothie every morning ( Including fruit doesn't stop my weight loss) BUT it must be eaten on an empty stomach.

I suppose it took about 6 months to lose the 3 stone that I've kept off

That's definitely doable as long as you are strict about it being low carb. Another plant to consider - which will give speedy results - is the Fast800, which is strict low calorie and low-ish carb.

@ppeatfruit
Could you share a typical day menu? I have 3 to loose as well, and I think how carb might be the best way

Of course Queen Grin

Breakfast - High vit. C smoothie - a whole lemon, slice and chop the skin off an organic lemon (including the pith, which has very high vit C apparently). Juice it into soaked 3\4 tabsp. of linseeds, with 2 or 3 chopped pears or apples and or figs\dates I make enough for 2 days) with mixed water and pear or apple juice Sometimes ground almonds for creaminess. I use a good handheld blender.

Lunch.- 2 or 3 slices of spelt or rye or kamut toast with non palm oil or sugar pnut butter, with olive oil not spread. A good salad with grated carrot, endive/lettuce, cucumber and raw onion\herbs.

Supper\dinner - I try to eat before 6 pm. It could be soup and toast or rice pasta with pesto sauce. Veg. curry and whole rice etc. etc. Oh i'm basically vegetarian.

I have herbal teas and filtered water all day with fruit in the evening if I'm hungry.

I lost 2.5 stone in 6 months last year - I suppose nearly keto - no sugar (including fruit) and v low carb (breakfast: Greek yoghurt with coconut and seed homemade granola, snack- coffee with 2tbsp of double cream, lunch; avocado salad, or scrambled eggs with spinach, or broccoli cheese soup, Dinner: chicken thigh with low carb veg, drizzled with avocado oil or something similar

Yes Oly 6 months is probably a more realistic time to lose 3 stone in, then you wouldn't be flabby, of course it's best to do pilates\yoga type stretches/ dance, exercises every other day (I do them at home) with sit ups thrown in!! Those are really effective for my ex flabby belly. Grin and to maintain it's tone too .
