Low-carb diets

Could you make a "jacket potato" using swede instead?

Just that really. I know you can make swede chips and wedges but what about baking one as a jacket potato alternative?

Anyone tried it?

We do a swede bake instead of potato bake and that is brilliant.

I thought you had to avoid all root veg on a low carb diet?

Well I suppose it depends how low is low! Swede is lower carb than potato so I do use it at times as a substitute, but it's of course higher carb than green leaves, broccoli etc. If everyone else is scoffing my husband's divine potato bake at least I can have something half way there!

That's my thinking. Mostly I'm happy to go without but sometimes it would be nice to have a closeish alternative.

Swede once a week is a good alternative!
