Eating low carb and the gym??

I've just started at a gym and generally I eat low carb - now more than 40 grams a day. I don't need to lose weight - I am doing it only to tone up.

Can anyone tell me, do you need more carbs than this to do resistance training? The gym coach has put together a programme for me which I advised to do for 1.5 hours a week, 3 times a week.

I don't think you should need more carbs. I've managed several weeks of cardio on low carb but I don't do much weight training. There is a book called 'The Art and Science of Low Carbohydrate Performance' which is all about exercising on a low carb diet, and might be useful to read.
