The Final Autumn Low Carb Bootcamp Weigh-in!

BIWI · 18/11/2013 07:46

Morning all!

Today is our last official weigh-in. Come and declare all on the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness

I hope it's a good result!

And I hope that everyone has done well over the Bootcamp.

Don't despair that it's the end, though! We will keep a chat thread going, and the spreadsheet is always there, so that there is support for all of us who continue to struggle with our inner gobbler low carb.

There are still 5 weeks till Christmas, so time to shed a few more pounds before the big day ...

Flowers to you all

Sts as expected but only a pound to go to reach my target weight so I'm continuing to make sure I reach it by Christmas.

sts...but i have gone down a belt loop and my clothes are definitely fitting better, so am clinging to that to stay positive. This is the start of my week 5 as I came v late to bootcamp, so shall push on through and hope for a loss next week. I'm probably eating a bit too much dairy as well...though I have finally ditched the diet coke pats self on back.

big congrats to all your hardcore bootcampers who have stuck with it - you're all very inspirational.

Lost 18lbs overall which would've been better if I hadn't put half that on before that when I came off the pill.

Well done everyone x

Well done everyone and a MASSIVE THANK YOU! to BIWI and Willie for running these threads. Flowers Flowers

I'm not weighing in as I'm in the Lake District for a little holiday. I've given up on losing my last half stone until after Christmas now, so I'll be signing up for the January bootcamp if there's one running.

Waaaaaah! I had reached my lowest weight for ages a week ago on Friday at (Top secret) stones and 10lb, had the weekend off and, whilst admitting I was very very bad indeed, did not expect to see the scales jump up by 12lb! Shock I have been good all last week and have lost 8 of those 12 but am still sulking, hence the Waaaaah!

Why is it so much easier to put on than to take off. I still have about 5 stone to go to get into a normal BMI range so it's very unfair. Angry

LilyAmaryllis · 18/11/2013 12:35

Oh poor Timid! I think most of that 12lbs was probably you filling up your glycogen stores? When you start low-carbing people often lose about 8lbs or so quite quickly and that is as the glycogen stores are used up. So I would guess if you start eating carbs again that happens in reverse. I guess the good news is that its not fat stores as such?

It is a bit unfair, and being scared of that is one thing keeping me continuing to low-carb!!

I put on 2lb a week or so ago (eating chickpeas and lentils etc, and too much of it, but not really bad stuff) and that's proved remarkably tricky to shift, I've been down and up each day but net result 0.2lb of it gone today!! But this is sweating the small stuff in the overall context of what I've lost so far.

I've got to remember to drink enough water too, not doing that slows my weight loss right down.

You will get there down through those 5 stones! You WILL get back to that lowest weight so far and then its all exciting unchartered territory to enjoy as you pass through it!

i find when i have the carbs, not only do i put on ridiculous lbs due to glycogen stores replenishing and get really bloated, but i also just seem to swell up everywhere else - face, ankles etc. i must retain water like the devil

i don't think anyone except me really notices size-wise, but i look so puffy and tired and unhealthy

Thanks guys. I am just looking at the positives at the moment, frustrating though it is, 3st 4lb off in total even allowing for this blip Smile

Lost 2st 9lb on my first bootcamp this time last year, put 10lb back on over Xmas, have footled about a bit this year but the progress is slowly and steadily downwards (1st 5lb off over the course of the year) which is good for me considering I have had a life and not deprived myself. So many times before I have lost that first stone or two then rebounded.

I have had a lot of a nightmare (and thus been absent) and have been back to some very very very bad woe or not eating as the case may be. I know i need to get back on track but right now struggling to see the point. I will be back at some point when i have the strength or have been given enough of a kick up the bum to do something about this. Daren't stand on the scales but suspect based on trousers that i have put on at least half a stone if not a stone. :(
Going to try to get my head around this for restarting next week.

"but i look so puffy and tired and unhealthy" this Willie - I also really notice this and so does the fecking camera

NewStart Try not to sweat it.
In my experience, the more wound up I get the harder it is. Take a step back, try to relax then move on when your head is in the right place. If you try to do stuff too soon you will just undermine yourself and feel worse. Just don't let things slip for too long.

Hello and well done everyone. Is it too late to start? Can anyone help. Have 12 lbs to lose

Report

Suzan - the threads will continue, with support, suggestions, breakdowns... You are most welcome to join in.
Read the rules (at the top on the spreadsheet) - you won't need to weigh-in as this is the last week. There will probably be a new bootcamp after xmas.
Any question jsut ask

a good place to start is with the pages that BIWI has written:

what is the low carb diet
how the low carb diet works
low carb diet plan
low carb bootcamp - this one has the bootcamp rules

there is more info in the tabs of the spreadsheets linked to in BIWI's OP, and just ask any questions here!

Have been quietly following bootcamp since week 2. Lost half a stone overall, most of that in first 4 weeks. Would like to lose more so going to have to ditch the nuts again!
I'm planning to stay on this long term, feel so much better on this WoE. No tummy bloat. Better hair skin and nails. Less stressed. What's not to like?
