Sorry but drinking 8 glasses a day is a complete myth and there is ZERO scientific evidence for it. Google it. Lots of reputable websites confirm it. When your body needs water, you feel thirsty. Don't ignore that and you are optimally hydrated.

Sounds like a bad idea. The recommended 2litres includes fluid in food. You risk totally upsetting your body chemistry.

I find having it measured out at the beginning of the day helps. I keep empty 750ml mineral water bottles and fill 5 of those (am on 3.5l a day!) which I then make my way through... and take one out and about with me.

Argh! I have utterly utterly failed today. Must try better tomorrow!

I do low carb and 3l water is recommended per day........

Up it slowly.. I learned the hard way. A sudden increase means lots of toilet visits until your bladder gets used.

Other than that it's a fab idea..I'm drinking far too much fizzy so may join you grin

Kotinka has a point. Excessive water consumption can have adverse effects in your body as your kidneys may also not be able to process it.

A woman should roughly drink 2 L of liquid per day (more on a hot day or if you have been exercising). That would include water, other drinks (tea, coffee, soft drinks,...), soup...

Be aware of how much your drink, check the colour of your urine (dark would indicate dehydration), check for other symptoms of dehydration.

Soft drinks are shit for your body. Yes, they are! They can also be addictive.

Replace them with water and you will notice a difference.

Where is this 3L target coming from anyway?

If you reduce your aim to 1.5L / 2L on top of your other drinks, that will be plenty.

Before doing anything drastic (be it diet or water consumption), liaise with your GP.

Hydro app sounds good. smile

So 3 litres is about 5 pints.

Cup of tea in morning followed by a pint of water.

I find warm water helps as it goes down more easily.

We can do it. smilesmilesmile

Me! Me! Lowish carbing with lots of slips but KNOW I am drinking far to much coke zero and not enough water. Need to get back into the water zone so im in!

Ruprekt Thu 31-Oct-13 22:31:45

We should be doing it anyway but I fail all the time. confused

I read an article on the health benefits of drinking lots of water so tomorrow I will take a photo and see if, in 4 weeks, anything has changed.

Anyone else up for it?
