Obviously there are many of us who want to continue, either to lose more weight or just for general support to help with this WOE, so here is a brand new, shiny chat thread.
As for me, having slipped
a lot a little when I was away, I'm firmly back on the wagon today.
And can I remind you, that if you haven't completed the survey we would be very grateful for your views/thoughts on how we can improve Bootcamp.
WireCat - definitely carb flu. Drink plenty of water, keep your fat intake up and make sure you are eating plenty of salt. (Make a hot drink with an Oxo cube or some Marmite/Bovril) It will soon pass.
Re no weight loss you are only on day 3! Stop weighing daily if you are going to start obsessing about weight like this, it isn't good for you

Cat - sounds like carb flue to me. Make sure you drink water. it helped me. And also a big cup of chicken stock cube made me feel a bit better.. it will go soon..
I wonder if the weather isn't helping wirecat? I sat down to dinner, hungry, of salmon and roasted butternut squash and greens. Halfway through it I suddenly felt really sick and couldn't eat any more. Very odd.

Had another major wobble here, but I'm picking myself back up and trying again.
Usual problems, comfort eating, boredom, hormones!! Back up to almost 10 st 12 lbs again.
I know I need to look at the recipes again. I hate cooking in the heat, but am fed up of salad too! Dh has been cooking whilst I'm (still) working fulltime, but his skills are very limited and I still have to make the decision what to cook. I get bored of the same stuff again and again, but am trying to keep the bills down too.
Sorry, I don't expect any advice, I know I keep trotting out the same excuses month after month, I need to get to grips with it. Hopefully it'll become easier when things get back to normal at work and it cools down a bit too.
P.s. all I want is ready meals I can just stick in the oven!

Was going to make bolognaise sauce tonight. I have passata from Aldi that is very low in carbs. Also can I use an onion?
You can, but if you can get some shallots they are much better. Onions are 7.9g carbs per 100g, whereas shallots are 3.3g. And as onion is quite a dense vegetable, you can quite quickly add a lot of carbs.
Carb flu should only last a day or so.
Finally feel better after 2 weeks of carb flu! It'll be 2 weeks tomorrow. I had a slight wobble and had some toast and Jaffa cakes 2 days ago, but was good all day yesterday and today I feel like I've got my energy back. Have got a gym session this evening so that'll be a true test as to whether or not my energy levels are close to what they were before. I've realized that I need to make myself eat my meals even if I don't feel like it as I end up drained and exhausted otherwise.

WireCat - if you can, get echalion or banana shallots. They are longer/bigger than the little ones which a real pain to peel.
Dolly thanks for those kind words. I haven't mentioned it because I didn't want to keep going on and on about it, but as a footnote to that, I went and visited the lad in hospital last week and he was really pleased to see me. He showed me the pictures of his scan results and they were ! He broke his femur and on the scan it was so displaced that you could have drawn a straight line down the outer edge of one bit and the inner edge of the other! He said they told him it took 7 hours to stabilise him and that'll be why - he will have lost a lot of blood from that. He's broken both arms, and his right (which was the open fracture) was broken so badly that they almost had to amputate his lower arm as they couldn't get the bone fragments out. They managed to save it, but that's why he was in surgery for 12 hrs! He fractured his pelvis too. He's still determined to get back on his bike! I had a long phone conversation with his mum, too, and will definitely visit again and keep in touch.
B/L - mozzarella and gran padana, tomatoes, olives and ham
S - almond butter (yes Mouse you'd eat it like pb, but not too much as it's 6.5% carbs)
D - cauliflower cheese with shallots, mushrooms, chicken
wine, loads of water
I'm going to be a bit off road this weekend as have friends coming and we've got a day boating on the canal on Sunday. It was a 40th birthday present (a few months ago) from friends and I'm really looking forward to it. There shall be bread, I'm afraid! And wine. Although at least three of the party have to remain legally able to drive (ie below 0.8 on a breathalyser) or you can be prosecuted for drink driving a boat just the same as a car!
New hope it goes ok with the docs and that they get your meds sorted out. You know we're always here to haul you back up on the wagon.

I have some pork belly strips - could someone tell me how to cook them so that they are lovely and crispy please? They are strips, not an actual bit of belly if that makes sense...
I made home made burgers yesterday - just mince and an egg and a lot of herbs and pepper. I used thyme basil and oregano but they are also nice with paprika and cayenne and oregano, or horseradish for a kick.
No bun, big green salad with cucumber and lots of olive oil dressing with a squeeze of lime.
My weight first thing was 145.5lbs - it will go up once drunk water and coffee but I started at 157.5lb on 9 July.
A typical day before starting
B: buttered whole meal toast with marmite, chunk of cheddar
L: shrimp and Parmesan wrap.
S: ham and cheese roll, apple plus toddler leftovers
D: spaghetti bolognaise with 50/50 mince and lentils in sauce plus grated carrot
2 bottles beer and glass wine in evening
B: scrambled egg and smoked salmon or egg mayo wrapped in slices of ham, or Greek yogurt and berries.
L: chicken and avocado salad, or bunless burger and salad
D: stir fried steak and mushrooms in chilli sauce with kale, or chicken curry with coconut oil and spinach, or fish with lemon butter and salad.
Shred and swim. No booze in week. One or two days 500 calories fast.
Weekend glass of dry white or G&t

Nigella, I would stick belly strips under grill at quite a high heat so the fat goes all caramely and sweet and the top is crunchy. <mmmm yum>

Weighed myself today. No change at all from last week which feels a bit depressing when I haven't fallen of the wagon and have done a fair bit of exercise... I'm about 5 weeks in, lost 15lbs in all (which I'm very pleased about) but I've a lot more to lose yet... is this all to be expected? Thanks.
trucks the before and after are interesting and makes me realise how much pastry, pizza base, rice, potato and general diet food Muller light shite i was actually consuming. I cannot imagine eating that stuff now.

On calorie counting I'd be lucky to lose 5lb in 5 weeks. [bad old days emoticon]
