Wow! This is the first time I've had to start a second thread this early!

Please continue to post all your meals, ideas, questions, woes, successes etc here!

I'm currently on a train Oop North with very dodgy wifi so can't guarantee I will see or be able to answer all your questions, but I'll do my best.

Also, tomorrow I'm at a funeral Sad so won't be around very much

Thanks for the new thread BIWI, I was beginning to have withdrawal;)

I had 3 compliments on my weight loss today so feeling very happy it's starting to show, only took 24 poundsBlush
They were nice compliments too, just dropped into conversation, no questions or amazement which I much prefer.

Sorry to hear about the funeral @BIWI.

I am really struggling with eating today. I’m just not hungry. I haven’t had any dinner, but might have a boiled egg if I get hungry later. I’m just concentrating on drinking water.

I have a question!
I have some mussels in white wine and garlic sauce , not home made, not alcoholic. Are they suitable? There is a little cornflour in there, is that a no-no? I think it was 19 g carbs. Haven't opened them yet.

Sorry to hear that, BIWI Flowers

Anyone else a bit knackered? Am feeling very tired and weepy today - guess it's a carb flu thing?

That sounds really high for shellfish! I think the sauce must be full of hidden bonuses.

Dinner was still frozen, despite being in the fridge for 24 hours. So much for forward planning Sad. Spicy eggs it is, then.

Thanks for the new thread @BIWI I hope the funeral goes as well as these things can do Sad

Somebody asked about Hartley 10 calorie jelly’s Teanytinyratsarse (sorry if name is wrong) but they are full of Aspartame so I think they are a no. They are very artificial and processed.

I had another day of training temptation. Somebody even put a plate of my favourite chocolate biscuits in front of me and there was a platter of iced buns too. I just sat and dipped water.

I did cave on the way home and brought some pork scratchings as I was starving -I let DH eat the lions share though (not many carb free options at lunch so I ended up eating chicken breast and olives).

Feel tired and a bit flat today. I really want this to work but it’s been hard today.

Thanks all - it's the father of my first serious boyfriend, who I was at school with - so have known him for a very long time! He was a lovely man. Very sad, but (a bit like my dad) he had been ill for a long time..

Thanks @StuntNun for the explanation about water earlier. Really helpful to know.

Today has been a hard day. I have been eating almost constantly even though I am not hungry. I think I'm craving something sweet so eating everything fatty in sight to try and fill the gap. Worried this is going to pile on the pounds!

Anybody got any tips for how to deal with constant face stuffing - I'm sure this isn't good even if all the food is 'allowed'!

@BIWI - sorry about your loss, hope tomorrow can be as much about remembering good times as it is about sorrow

@oldbirdy - sorry but that's too carby. Cornflour is out I'm afraid.

And @RuffleBelly is right about the Hartley's jelly - it's got artificial sweeteners in, so not OK for Bootcamp. Once we get through the first two weeks you can add things in like this occasionall - but remember, what we're trying to do in this first two weeks is break the hold that sweet things have over us. So jelly is out!

@RuffleBelly - you are an example to us all! What fortitude you have shown Grin

And absolutely nothing wrong with pork scratchings - they're a perfect low carb snack. M&S sell a really great snack, which is crackling straws.

I'm staying with my DB and DSIL tonight. I get in quite late, so thought they would have eaten - but they're waiting for me and have booked a table at their favourite restaurant, which is very lovely of them. Unfortunately it's a pizza restaurant, and I don't think they serve anything else Sad.

But - this is A Thing Called Life. It's clearly not ideal, but not something I have any control over.

That’s definitely the right attitude.

For people looking for yoghurt, today I noticed that M&S does a 10% fat Greek yoghurt (with 4g carbs per 100g). It’s very nice. (But obviously isn’t going to be the cheapest option).

That's OK - no worries! It will be sad, but I haven't seen him for many years. TBH I'm going to pay my respects, but also to see/spend a bit of time chatting to my ex-BF and his DW, and DB. I get on really well with all of them, which is nice.

I'm dreading tomorrow as the evening is usually my fall head first into a vat of crisps and white wine time

Sorry to hear of the funeral BIWI and also the unplanned pizza dinner.

I'm glad we have a new thread, my phone couldn't cope with the size of the old one and wouldn't load or book mark. It was a nightmare to keep up but I persisted and have read to the end.

Leelaseye I'm planning to have sparkling water with ice and lemon tomorrow night instead of my usual half bottle of red. Is there anything like that you could have as a distraction? After 2 weeks you can have a glass or two of allowed alcohol.

Report
Leelaseye · 17/05/2018 19:50

Thanks blackteaplease. Will do the same I think. Also pork scratchings are definitely an acceptable substitute for the crisps!

Flowers BIWI.

Am going to stay with people this weekend, so not quite sure how I am going to navigate that. I don't know them that well, so don't want to appear too much hard work, but still want to stick to this. How odd do you think it might appear if I happened to bring some avocados with me for breakfast? I know bootcamp is no nuts, but I might bring a bag of macadamias with me just in case.

Report
BIWI · 17/05/2018 19:53

It depends how well you know them @BerylStreep.

If they're good friends, tell them what you're doing, and I'm sure they'll understand.

If not - you'll just have to go with the flow and do what you can.

I have made fatty pork chops with butter added with salad and hard boiled eggs. I can't nearly eat it all. Plenty left for breakfast!
