OMG I so need this. Have returned to the Low Carb topic in need of the big stick. Can't actually wait until 14 May so will probably start on Monday quietly by myself and should be raring to go on the 14 May.

I managed to go from 12.12 to 11.13 over the last two bootcamps, then I got ill. A horrendous tooth abscess then a month of a throat infection (related apparently), then went on holiday and, well, just kept eating sugary carbs for a fortnight after. Its like an addiction - or it actually IS an addiction - because I know I don't want them or need them, I just eat them and enjoy that few minutes. Anyway, I've gained over half a stone - weighed in this morning at 12.8. I am cross with myself BUT I keep saying its 4lb less than I did weigh!!

I felt really good towards the end of the last low carb period and hope I can get back some of that positivitiy and energy. Looking forward to it and no croissants this time I promise

Scabbersley! You're back! I asked about you in the Week 10 thread as I hadn't seen you for ages.

Oh - and I'm in for the May bootcamp. Thank you for doing this, BIWI.

AW thank you! I was really really poorly for ages! I did log in occasionally but just had so much going on that I lost track. I missed it actually.

Hello - I'm on this. I see Mays the big month.....I'll still be going then. I'm 2 weeks down and determined to shift at least 1st (5ft 2 and 11.2stone). DH is a super fit skinny guy and the fact that I currently weigh more than him is a kick up the bum to make changes.
Tonight, I'm looking forward to a small wine and chicken curry (homemade and minus rice for me). I'm adding lentils and chickpeas for some bulk to the curry. Can't wait! Got to say, I'm bleeding starving.
I'm also using some Cute Shakes and adding some fresh fruit to the smoothie...they're ok. Looking forward to hearing others goals and progress. I'm very determined to loose my jowls and kanga pouch!!!

I completely lost my stomach fat rolls on this WOE. Sadly they are back Sad

@Tinkobell - you do realise that lentils and chickpeas are very carby, though, don't you? You'd be far better using veg to bulk out your curry.

And those Cute shakes are really high carb, even without the fruit.

They might be low calorie, but Bootcamp/low carbing isn't about calorie counting.

I've been following an easy version of LCHF since January and lost 0.5lb a week but I'm ready to properly boot camp now. However the rules look restrictive but at least its only 2 weeks! A few questions for any boot camp experts please:

  1. I currently have nuts on my breakfast full fat Greek yog- what could I have instead?
  2. I have a mini cheese and half a mozzarella every day for my lunch, is this too much cheese?!
  3. I have berries and cream most days too. What would be a good replacement for the berries?

Thanks all, got 2 more stone to lose!

Well, Bootcamp might not be easy (although it's easy to follow - simple rules and no weighing or counting!), but you should certainly lose more than 0.5lbs a week.

To answer your specific questions:

1. I currently have nuts on my breakfast full fat Greek yog- what could I have instead?

After the first two weeks of Bootcamp you can go back to the nuts, as long as it's not too many. In the initial two weeks, try adding vanilla essence/powder or cinnamon - or just have it on its own! Some people add double cream to it, to make sure that the fat levels are kept up

2. I have a mini cheese and half a mozzarella every day for my lunch, is this too much cheese?!

Probably not - but it also doesn't look like much food! Please tell me that you're eating more than that?

3. I have berries and cream most days too. What would be a good replacement for the berries?

Again, you can re-introduce berries after the first two weeks. But in the initial period of Bootcamp you can't have them - but why are you eating them? One of the key principles of Bootcamp is to reduce our preference for sweet things, so cutting out fruit can only help in this regard.

One thing to keep an eye out, overall, is how much dairy you're consuming. Some people are fine with dairy, but it can impede weight loss for many.

I'd love to do the next boot camp but I'm on holiday 25th may for a week. Realistically I won't be able to do boot camp that week as we will be eating out every day so is there any point me doing the boot camp this time?

Just checking in from the last thread. If I can get my head straight I’ll join in, if I can’t I’ll stay in the background.

@3stonedown that sounds like an excuse in the making! Just jump in when you get back. Plenty of people stay on strict Bootcamp for the whole 10 weeks, so you'll have lots of company. Plus - it's not a competition with other Bootcampers. You're doing it for you and your own weight loss, so 8 or 9 weeks is just as good as 10 - and you can continue after the official Bootcamp finishes anyway - we keep the chat threads running so there's always help and support.

I'm in. I've been away from the thread because of life. Not in a great place but need to keep control of my eating or will just have one more problem to deal with. I've stuck to BC rules mostly anyway. Looking forward to all the support on here.

I'm in.

For anyone waivering and unsure, it's totally worth it.

You can spend thr next ten weeks eating shite and staying fat/getting fatter or you can spend the next ten weeks eating great food, not being hungry and getting smaller every day.

Personal choice...

I'm in. Again! Lost 17lbs since 3 Jan, got another 8lbs to go, found last BC really helpful, full of support and good ideas. To anyone contemplating it, it's honestly the easiest 'diet' you will ever do. Forget all the crap you've been told about low fat, it wasn't true!

Here you all are! I'm coming up to my first bootcamp anniversary and looking forward to the next one and getting rid of that last pesky stone. 5 stone down and LCHF through 3 big birthdays in the family (including mine!), two holidays, a graduation, two big wedding anniversary parties etc etc.

Morning campers Grin

First time around, I am on my second week of LCHF. 6 pounds down. The NHS seem to think I need to lose more than 3 stone to not be overweight. I'd be reasonably happy just to get back into all my clothes, which will be a rolling project as I journey ever deeper into the wardrobe in search of forgotten loves.

VEGGIE Q , are things like Quorn chunks/slices/roasted fillets OK for boot camp? Also tofu etc? I know Quorn without breadcrumbs looks pretty low carb. No idea about tofu, I never cook with it normally.

Morning campers, I have been gone for ages, been on a slow, slippery slope, constantly feel tired and need the energy that I get from eating low carb, and you lovely people [waves to Stuntnun, ilovecherries and everyone].

Have allowed life to get in the way and pretend that i need the odd treat to .... well, as we know, to feel lethargic. Due on holiday in a month or so, and remember how i enjoyed the high from sticking to this plan, really enjoying my food and not feeling guilty on previous holidays. I'm back for some more of that.

[slips quietly in the back, looks around hopefully, smiles tentatively....]

3stonedown I'm going on an all inclusive holiday on May 29th for a week. Will pause boot camp for that week, and so the first two weeks again when I get back, so we can keep each other going!

I'm a bit nervous about doing bootcamp, I've so much weight to lose. But I've lurked so much over the past few years, it's time to come out of the shadows and be one of the weight losers!
