Low-carb bootcamp

Low Carb Bootcamp - our final weigh-in!

Good morning!

Well, we've finally reached the end. Here's the spreadsheet, for the last time

It feels to me like it's been a really good Bootcamp, with lots of NSVs as well as success on the scales. Hopefully today sees another good reading on the scales too!

As I've said on previous threads, just because we've reached the end of this Bootcamp, it doesn't mean that we all just melt away - I'll keep this chat thread going and when it fills up, I'll start another general chat one, so there's always someone here for help and support as well as ongoing low carb stuff.

I'll probably put the big stick back in its cupboard for a while though Grin

Half a pound off for me. I shall be keeping on until the next Bootcamp. Thank you BIWI for the threads and big stick and everyone else for your advice and support. Hoping everyone has losses and/or NSVs this week!

Morning, thanks BIWI, Prettybird and Beryl . Although I haven’t posted all the time, I’ve been reading every day and it’s definitely kept me on the wagon most of the time. I was 10st 7lb when I started this WoE back in November, 10st 5lb at the start of BC and am now 9st 12lb. Not huge figures but the best thing for me is my IBS is under control for the first time in years. The weight loss is a bonus - I’d kind of resigned myself to thinking that middle age for me meant podgy.

I’ll definitely keep going, so glad to hear the big stick isn't far away!

Morning, all.

I started BC a fortnight later than everyone else so I'm now on home stretch and really appreciate this thread.

I have been following along with everyone and their scale and nsv.

KOKO!

Morning! I STS this week and lost 5.6lb over Bootcamp which is good for me because I've been doing it over a year. It was basically what I put on over Christmas!

I ran my first Parkrun on Saturday and I put my new running down to the confidence inspired by these threads.

Thanks BIWI and everyone. Flowers

Just over 9lbs lost this bootcamp, bit disappointed to be honest. Hopefully after Easter when I get back from holiday I will be feeling better (mental health really suffering at the moment) and do better next bootcamp.

Hi, will the spreadsheet continue to be available? i only joined a week ago but have lost 6.5lb (water?) trying to get off all my pregnancy weight and then some.

63.8kg this morning. That’s 500g down this week and 6.2kg in the (I think) 8 weeks I’ve been on bootcamp.
Im really pleased and another person whose IBS has disappeared. It came back on Sunday morning temporarily after my anniversary meal out interestingly even though I didn’t go into full carby twat mode. Also I was relieved that I was straight back on it in the morning without cravings or issues.
I have 3.8kg to target so hopefully that will be gone by summer :)

Thank you so much for this - I've "only" lost 5lbs overall, but its 5lbs that I would not have lost otherwise and I've learnt a lot from reading this thread. I had a great NSV to inspire me over the weekend - I got out all my clothes from last summer and had a massive try-on. Nearly all my summer trousers and cropped trousers are now unwearable as they're too loose - the only exception being the pair I bought last summer and could just squeeze into then. I'll be carrying on until the next bootcamp!

NSV here, just got ready and my jeans are definetly looser. So I've lost a little more weight. Falling off the wagon and drinking four days running hasn't had too much of an impact, possibly due to all the running around at the meeting.

The 30 inch hilfiger skinnies I can pull out at the waist now by about an inch. But the 29 ones still give me a bloody muffin top. Marks and Sparks ones in the ten a little loose but they come up big. Definitely getting a little closer to target. I'm not stopping till everything fits me again and I'm back to normal.

On other news, Off to test drive a new car this morning. Considering trading mine in. Decisions decisions. 🤔

My best Bootcamp yet.

One pound down this week, 12.2 lbs down on this Bootcamp, and 16.2lbs down since 31 December.

Have calculated that if I continue at this rate of appx 1.45lb per week, I will be at my first goal weight by August, just in time for our summer holidays. Probably won’t make that goal if I’m realistic—my weight loss isn’t that linear—but it’s fun to fantasise about a wearing a bikini on the beach in France. Grin

I’ll be staying on this thread and joining everyone for next Bootcamp, cheers to BIWI and all who sail the Bootcamp ship.

I was 160.5 today, making 9lbs overall this bootcamp. 0.6 of a lb short of my target, which was to see the 150s, but I reckon it's only a few more days away! I'm really pleased overall, as that's more or less still a pound a week, which I think is good, 10 months in and on my last stone. I noticed this morning how much more comfortable I am physically - not just doing obvious stuff like running up the stairs, but just reaching onto a high shelf, or emptying the dishwasher. Everything just seems to move a little better.

ilovecherries · 19/03/2018 10:13

Oh, and the spreadsheet tells me that I lost 5.31% of my body weight this bootcamp. That not too shabby. I think I've lost around 30% overall.

Hi there I'm a newbie so wasn't part of the boot camp thread but if it's ok I'll post here for the chat until the next one as I'm LC. I've currently lost 19 pounds and have a way to go so was delighted to find these threads and all the much needed infoSmile

Congrats on the weight loss and NSVs everyone.

Thanks, BIWI!

2lbs up for me, because 5 days without heating in daytime zero-temps means I have spent the last 4 days sitting in the one room with a stove in it - so no moving, and a bit more whisky over the weekend than was sensible.

HOWEVER. That still leaves me 1 stone and 1 wonderful lb lower than when I started (week before BC). Plus just the single chin now, 2" off hips, waist and chest, much calmer temperament, an optimistic mood about losing the rest, and able to squeeze into more than one pair of (hugely overworn) trousers.

Will be KOKOing. Especially as I am feeling unusually jiggly around the hips, so think a few days more will see a whoosh there.

ps Time, excellent news about your brave outdoor run! Are you going to repeat it?

Well done everyone. I've stayed the same which is a bit annoying as I wanted to get into the 9's but hey ho! I've lost 7lbs this boot camp which I'm happy with.

I'll definitely be sticking around the chat until the next boot camp.

There's something off with the spreadsheet. It's telling me that I've gained 2 lbs in a week whereas I've gone from 120 to 120.9 lbs. I've had a look and the equation is wrong, but I won't change it myself. @BIWI, could you ask the Powers that Be to amend this, please?

I've lost a total of 5.4 lbs this BC. It could have been more, but I've slipped off the wagon these last few weeks. It was my own stupid fault. I'll get there, I just have to KOKO. I'm in a much better place, mentally, that's for sure, and I could have never taken to running the way I have without losing this weight, so thank you, BIWI. You truly are a star!

I have done something stupid today - I put my size 6 leggings in my bag to change into after the gym today, but it was only after my shower when I realised that I tried them on a few weeks ago, when I was a few pounds lower, but, seeing as how I don't have anything else to wear I have no choice but to wear them. Let's just say that I won't be eating much lunch today! Oh, and I haven't warn leggings for about 30 years and I suspect I'm about 20 years too old for them (darn working with teenagers who can get away with it!). But never mind!

Thanks for all your lovely comments about my run on Saturday. It was lovely to get a positive reaction rather than DP's comment about me running on a hard surface! Athel - I most definitely be going out again, probably Saturday morning. I'm treadmilling the other two weekly runs as they involve a change of pace and I like being able to set it. But it did feel strange being back on the treadmill this morning! Did your continued lack of heating manage to kick you off your sofa?????

Morning, 1.2lb off for me, down to 142.2lb - 2.4lb off my BC target of getting into the 140s.

Some statistics:

  • 11.8lb off (from 154lb)
  • 7.66% of body weight lost
  • 2.5" off my bust (35.5 to 33)
  • 2.5" off my waist (30.5 to 28)
  • 2" of my hips (40 to 38) (always comes off more slowly there!)

Many thanks again to BIWI, Prettybird, BerylStreep and StuntNun in particular - BIWI* I hope things calm down/improve on the work/home front soon Flowers

Destinysdaughter, I like your apron (from the last thread) Grin

Welcome Lonesurvivor and well done so far.

I haven’t done my measurements for months—wondering if it’s worth it. Even though my overall loss of 49lbs is visible, I’ve not dropped much in clothing sizes and I think my waist would still be quite similar, which I would find gutting (pun intended) as that’s definitely my biggest problem area.

Think I’ll leave measurements for when I get to goal (two more stones to go). Oh how I envy the pear shapes and their flat stomachs!

Low Carb Bootcamp - our final weigh-in!

“Flat” is a relative term, WayoftheWorld. But I was amused by your descriptive prose. Grin
