@TempusEejit holymoly fasting for 4 days.
Doesnt that will make you bounce around and kick in store everything mode.
So the broth is a very low calorie and no fibre but has electrolytes or just hot flavoured water.

*Wombat thanks for the new thread

Mimosa1 · 14/09/2017 17:07

Thanks wombat!

Jiminy, very best wishes for the wedding and sorry to hear about your future FIL.

C4, safe travels!

I've put on 1.5lbs since yesterday, which annoyingly has put me over the 83Kg/14 stone mark. Hope it fluctuates back down tomorrow.DH and I went out for our first date night since the baby was born last night and had a very late dinner, so fingers crossed, that's why. Then,
I had a delicious lunch, including gratinée cauliflower, but only realised after I'd eaten it that the cheesy béchamel had flour in it, grrr
Still struggling with water but doing my best. I'm going away on holiday with my lovely BF for her birthday in 10 days and would love to be properly under 14st for it so KOKO.

CiderwithBuda · 14/09/2017 17:11

Marking place on shiny new thread.

Jiminy - I don't think I know you as I'm fairly new to this thread (but have been on boot camp threads previously) - just wanted to say well done on your amazing loss and your dress looks gorgeous.

C4 - I like retail therapy revenge. Good choice!

wotabastard · 14/09/2017 17:22

Hello new thread, thank you @wombattoo

NOMOREoatcakesandcheese · 14/09/2017 17:34

Thanks new thread wombattoo

  • been packing and putting ( what feels like) half the house in storage today ready for the builders to start on our extension - I'll catch up later tonight when I've got chance to have a sit down
hippadoppaloppagorillapig · 14/09/2017 18:15

Thanks wombat!

C4 you're as cold as ice! I like your style!

Tea turned into aubergine fried in garlic, salt and mixed herbs, fried halloumi and olives. Was blinking delicious.

RaininSummer · 14/09/2017 18:18

Hi all, I am still lurking and koko x

wotabastard · 14/09/2017 18:22

I made a really nice Bolognese for tea and did zoodles lightly sauteed in butter with mushrooms and plenty of cheddar. So yum.

ilovecherries · 14/09/2017 18:30

I'm half way to Inverness. Hungry and sun in eyes. Waiting for the barista to make my coffee in some random service station.

Grimbles · 14/09/2017 18:43

Evening all! Scales still haven't moved for the 3rd day in a row Hmm

Do I need to think about macros and the proportion of carbs to fat and protein at all - I keep seeing them mentioned?

B. Bacon and mushrooms
L. Tin tuna in oil with blue cheese
S1. Pork Scratchings
S2. Cockles (which I am regretting as they are actually higher in carbs than I thought they would be!)
D. Planned as sausages with leeks in butter

On about 2l of water so far plus 1 creamy coffee and 3 normal coffees (I ran out of cream Blush)

littlebillie · 14/09/2017 19:02

Add me in here please

wombattoo · 14/09/2017 19:43

Grimbles - no. you don't need to worry about that at this stage. It is quite common for the scales not to move, or even to fluctuate wildly. If you are sticking to the rules - stick with it.

billie, I made a lovely broccoli soup at the weekend. Sautéed some shallots in butter, throw in broccoli, chicken stock pot, salt and pepper. When cooked and the soup has cooled, just blend. When reheated, add double cream. It's so easy and delicious.

thanks wombatto I'm trying not to panic and just get through this stall!

lisbapalea · 14/09/2017 20:03

Hi all - been off the grid (but not off plan) for a couple of days so trying to catch up!

Was so excited to weigh in yesterday after 8 days of obedience but I hadn't lost a single fricking pound. Weighed again today and it was 12.13 (was 13st dead last Wednesday), so it's still a bit pathetic given what a difference there is in what I am eating now vs. two weeks ago. But I will not be defeated and am sticking to my guns. I do actually think I need some better scales as mine are old school analogue ones that I have had for years. Any recommendations?

Food has been on plan for the last two days although I did have two small glasses of red last night as was out with friends and wasn't driving, for once!

Yesterday:
B - Greek yog, some berries, flax and coconut flakes
L - leftover belly pork stir fry from Tuesday night
D - carefully chosen tapas!

Today:
B - Greek yog, some berries, flax and coconut flakes
L - Waitrose service station selection - Greek salad plus "snacking chorizo"
D - currently cooking cod roasted on top of a sauce made with fennel, courgette, small amount of onion and some cherry tomatoes. Will have with rocket and Parmesan salad with olive oil.

TempusEejit · 14/09/2017 20:06

Grah according to Jason Fung's book on fasting it's fine as long as you balance it out by eating proper LCHF on non-fast days. If you end up doing severe calorie restriction by stealth then that's when you get issues. After day 1 or 2 you don't feel hungry, honestly! I added Lo-salt to my broth for the potassium and took mutivitamin and magnesium supplements. I like taking a break from not having to think about food, plus it gives my liver a rest which is supposed to help reverse insulin resistance which I assume I probably have judging by the ease with which I put on weight nowadays. At the moment it gives me around 1/2 - 1 lb loss per day when I do it which is only once a month or so and seems to be good for keeping my body on its toes.

User5trillion · 14/09/2017 20:17

Had a hungry day caused by too much wine last night - 2 large glasses and I felt like I.had drink 2 bottles. Must remember I cant drink on lchf.
B- bulletproof coffee
L- lidl high protein roll with cheese and chorizo. Plus cheese cubes.
D- tuna mayo on lettuce wraps

Not enough water.

TempusEejit · 14/09/2017 20:45

Have just seen that Iceland now do cauliflower rice steambags - 4 bags for £2.00. Carb count 4.5g per bag. I know it's easy enough to make yourself but might be a good standby to have in the freezer.

Iceland cauli rice

Llareggub · 14/09/2017 20:45

I was on a training course today and was.running late. I ate the contents of the free sarnies (freshly cooked Salmon, bit of cheese and salad) and ignored the amazing homemade cake. I did however gorge on the grapes and strawberries, they were lovely.

I have mackeral and eggs now. My fridge is kind of empty....

OldBooks · 14/09/2017 20:47

Hello all, thanks for starting the new thread Wombatoo.

Jim I was wondering how you were getting on, you look amazing! The dress is gorgeous. But I am very sorry to hear about your DP's dad. At least you are able to be flexible and reschedule the wedding.

C4 love the high ground! You handled it very well. Hopefully you are en route now and the flying isn't too exhausting.

I have lost another 2lbs of holiday weight, just two more to go till I am back to pre holiday weight. Pleased with that, it seems to be falling off. However could have done without period starting during meeting with senior (male) managers and soaking through to (black thank god) dress. Was not expecting it as I had last period 10 days ago Sad.

Help me everyone! I just can't seem to get back on track. Any tips to get me started tomorrow on day 1?

Mimosa1 · 14/09/2017 21:11

Oh Oldbooks, that sounds awkward. Hope you managed to escape your meeting ok.

I'm having trouble with carb creep and my otherwise truly lovely husband sabotaging me a bit. He cooked tonight, with a stir fry and beef. I was planning to add a few jigs of Tamari sauce, but he made a sauce with BBQ sauce, honey, hot sauce, soy and goodness knows whatever else and poured it over everything. Not the end of the world but he KNOWS I'm low carbing. "It will be tasty" is not a proper answer! I ate it (I know, I know) because I'd been up with the baby and couldn't face cooking again. Bloody hell. Not a good day foodwise for me as there was flour in my cauliflower gratin at lunch. All those carbs, and not on anything delicious like bread or apples or cake... or wine.
