I've been following the LCHF "way of life" for 4 months now. I was advised by my cardiologist that he found it a brilliant way to keep weight under control. However, he was unaware that I have a familial issue with high cholesterol. I have just had lipids done and my cholesterol is 7.8, HDL chol 1.77, LDL chol 5.4, chol/HDL ratio 4.8, triglyceride 1.7. The only thing that is lower since starting my diet is the Trigyceride, which was 2.1 previously; the rest are way up, specially the Chol figure of 7.8 which used to be 5.9. I have also had my statin dose doubled since the 5.9 reading. Eeep! what do I do?
