Low-carb bootcamp

Week 3 - Spring Low Carb Bootcamp - To B or to BC, that is the question!

Morning all

Here's the Spreadsheet

I see from the last thread that some of you have already weighed in - well done to those who've lost and commiserations with those of you who haven't.

We now enter week 3, which is notorious (along with week 4) for being a bit of a bugger of a week Grin

At this point, you'll see weight loss slow, stop or even reverse. It's a very, very common thing. So if this happens to you, don't panic - it's perfectly normal. Your body is adjusting, and weight loss will resume again, assuming that you keep on keeping on.

You can now choose whether or not you want to move on to Bootcamp Light, which allows a bit of fruit, some nuts/seeds and alcohol - all in moderation of course!

If you prefer, and if it's suiting you, you can stay on Bootcamp - or you could do a mix of both. So Bootcamp during the week and Bootcamp Light at the weekend. Up to you.

Good luck whichever approach you take

I did comment on week 2 but ive gained again. Pretty gutted but I'll live. Technically last two weeks were week 3&4 and ive had totm so I'm clinging on that this week will be better. I've actually got to the point where im not even bothered about brekkie but will usually have a cpl if boiled eggs to keep me going. Unheard of for me lol. School hols for us and day out today so im about to make a packed lunch. Wish me luck!!!

Just 1.75lbs off this week, would have liked more as I have so much to lose! Just have to console myself that at least there was a loss and not a gain.

Thank you for the new thread Biwi :)

My 3lb off makes it a total of 7lb. I think though I'll be moving to BC light, I'll try to stick to mainly BC type stuff, and just allow myself milk in tea on top of that, and the odd (hopefully not daily!) little extra of some nuts, maybe berries. If it turns out my weight loss stops completely, I can always reverse next week...

3.2lbs off for me which I am thrilled with. Makes 7lbs in total. Another 6lbs to go before I'm at pre-baby weight 'happy' weight.

I seemed to stall mid week after having ff yog and double cream. Really hoping I'm not sensitive to dairy as I can't face eggs too often and like someone said, I've got used to the sourness of the yog!

Too top it all off I'm finally divorced after a 2yr wait....so all in all I'm 14stone lighter!!GrinWineCake no cake really.....or wine.....

Thanks to everyone who runs this thread. Couldn't have done it without you.

Feels sooooooo freaking good! Fresh start, new sexy bodyGrin

Woohoo - 2.2 pounds off, just shy of 8 pounds off in total so far. I'm planning on sticking to BC for the most part, but with a little bit of wriggle room at weekends for a glass of white wine - DH has been briefed to make sure I don't go overboard on that front.

Several people have commented they can see the weight loss already, particularly in my face- THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU - this is the lowest weight I have been in well over 2 years

Another 3 lbs off!
I've had a bugger of a week, my two youngest have had chicken pox plus totm so while I've stuck to diet as best I could I have succumbed to the demon chocolate albeit tiny amounts when normally I would have binged.
Still have a long way to go so will plod on with bc for another week and maybe chuck in a few berries occasionally for a treat.

Just checking in. Have massively ballsed up, but back to it today.
Had eggs and home made coleslaw for breakfast. About to clean out the fridge and go shopping for suitable food.

Well done.Leostar. Grin

I have stayed the same which I am happy with as I have been shocking this week. I am going to stick to BC for at least another week as , erm, I didn't do it at all last week. (Runs from BIWIS stick).

I have 6 weeks to a special event which I really want to be at least a stone lighter for. At least. So I must get this.

I have signed up for free trial with Dr Diet which I would recommend for general info and recipes. I watched 'cereal killers' on there which I would recommend.

I am going to start reporting the food in again as it keeps me on track.

B. Scrambelled egg in butter
L.Tuns salad
D. Sea bass and veggies

Booking my place on week 3! Grin

I'm going to stick to what I was doing before but focus this week on hunger signals. Hopefully that will help tire train my relationship with food :)

STS as expected after wine at the weekend but I feel FABULOUS. I eat low carb all the time but since I've been a little stricter I have so much energy and I even seem to be stronger.

Keepon I tried adding vanilla for the first time yesterday. It was good. I used vanilla extract.

Report
SayrraT · 20/02/2017 11:27

keepon I use vanilla paste or a vanilla grinder.

I've lost the 2lbs I put on last week so I'm pleased.

I got up and did the shred today so I deserve a point for that!

I'm 3lbs up after losing 5lbs last week.

I'm a bit disappointed as I've been sticking to the rules.

I'll keep going with BC and hope that I start losing again.

Right, big stick required here please! I've put on 2 pounds, really cross with myself after minor indiscretions lead to major binge instead of getting back on track. So, I've read the article about cheating and it's really hit home.

Half term week for us, but I am determined to be organised. I have done this before and need to remind myself that it works.

Onwards and downwards!!

Today
B - coffee and cream, tea and soya
L - 2 LC sausages, LC coleslaw
D - butter chicken, cauli rice
Snacks - I'm aiming not to snack but have olives, babybel, pork scratching if needed
3L water / fruit tea (loving the Taylor's ones right now - spiced apple, rose lemonade and sour cherry all good)

Keepon if you have a Waitrose nearby they do great powdered vanilla (nothing added) in a tiny black tin in the baking section. check if you buy essence as often contains sugar (albeit in tiny amounts) I like ground cinnamon in my ff Greek yog & dbl cream, also recently bought orange oil and almond oil, the orange I've had in yog and quite like it, haven't tried almond, yet.

L: a giant avocado and matcha with cream
S: Greek yoghurt, if needed
D: pork shoulder steak, buttery cauliflower and broccoli, and salad leaves

After losing nearly 8lbs last week, I've gained 3lbs or so this week so overall loss of 4-5lbs.

Really disappointed with myself. I met up with one of my best friends on Tuesday and allowed myself to cheat just a little....except it wasn't a little and turned into a 5 day carb fest.

I have discovered that my willpower is non existent and I just need to stay away completely from banned foods as I don't know how to say no!

Anyway, Back on it today!!

Listen up peeps, this is important:
Your weight will go up as well as down.

Even if you follow the rules perfectly and BIWI doesn't have to get her big stick out once then there WILL be weeks when you don't lose weight and there WILL be weeks when your weight goes up. It is normal. It is to be expected. Magazines give us the notion that you can go on a diet and lose 3lb every week, week after week. That would be nice but it just doesn't work like that.

This is a graph of my weight loss in 2012. I lost 30 lb in five months starting from the June Bootcamp. As you can see my weight went up and down but that trendline shows that this way of eating was working perfectly. The big problem is you can only see it in hindsight. While I was losing weight I was just the same as lots of you guys: celebrating loss, being annoyed every time the scales stayed the same or went up. If I could only have seen the big picture I would have been a lot happier.

Bootcamp works. The reason BIWI devotes so much time and energy to it is because of people like me, whose lives have been changed by it. Not only in terms of weight loss but also for overall health and wellbeing. I feel ten years younger than I did when I started... and that was nearly four years ago.

Follow the rules and Bootcamp will work for you.

Week 3 - Spring Low Carb Bootcamp - To B or to BC, that is the question!
