Low-carb bootcamp

Week 3 - Pre-summer Low Carb Bootcamp - the choice is yours!

Morning all. Sorry for the later than usual thread, but I'm away at the moment/1

Anyway, here's the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness

As we've now completed the first two, more strict, weeks of Bootcamp you have a choice. You can move on to Bootcamp Light, (rules are on the spreadsheet tabs), which essentially means you can add in a few nuts/seeds, and some fruit (berries, and strictly in moderation), and you can have alcohol occasionally.

However, if you haven't really done Bootcamp strictly enough, or you cheated, or just because you think it's going well, you can stay on Bootcamp. (If you do, though, please make sure your carbs are mainly coming from vegetables and salad, to make sure that you're getting a good balance of nutrition)

Alternatively, you can do Bootcamp during the week but Bootcamp Light at the weekend. The choice is yours.

However, there is one thing I have to warn you about. Weeks 3 and 4 are notorious for little or no weight loss. If this happens to you, please don't panic! Just keep on keeping on and things will start to move again.

After initial big losses in the first couple of weeks, you can't feasibly expect to see that continue, and you should that weight loss settles down at around 1-3lbs a week, depending on how much you have to lose.

Good luck all! Flowers

Thanks BIWI. I'm looking forward to the odd bit of 90% chocolate and it's strawberries and cream tonight for pudding. I will mainly be sticking to BC, though.

I'll post here again then. Smile

I haven't lost anything thins week but I think it's because my period has started. A plus is I haven't gained either.

I'm staying in boot camp mode, but cutting down on dairy and then see if that helps. Koko!

Morning! Down to 176 today which is the smallest I've been in two years! Fingers crossed for everyone today Smile

Can someone put it on the spreadsheet of amazingness please?

Need to up my water intake this week as it has really tailed off over the last few days. I'm very much looking forward to the odd nut or strawberry now.

Because I only started 5 days ago I'm not in synch with you guys. So will keep to BC. Although I have allowed myself some very small bits of fruit. No other cheating, tho.

Not sure if the spreadsheet is playing up or if people are putting their weight in the wrong column!

Check where you're posting!

Morning, I forgot and drank a pint of water before getting out of bed so will weigh in tomorrow.
Not been on for a few days as I dropped my phone down the toilet..so annoying. However 75 quid excess later and my new one should come tomorrow.
Food wise over the last few days I have been good I think.
I had 3 nights out in a row which is very very unusual.
So I managed the first one alcohol free but caved at me sisters 40th and had prosecco and then had 3 gin and slims last night.
I'm hoping because I have not eaten anything carby.

Lots and lots of water for me today.
I hope you all have good losses and will update tomorrow.

NotDead you have been cheating! You've had both nuts and artificial sweeteners. Those aren't allowed in the first two weeks of Bootcamp. So effectively you have been doing Bootcamp Light.

Finish that sentence... I'm hoping as I haven't eaten anything to carby that I will get back into fat burning mode as soon as the alcohol is out my system.

Delighted with my 6.9lb loss, especially because that's only for 5 days as I joined late on Wednesday. Thanks again BIWI. This thread is really helping me to stay on track.

Good morning, and thanks for the new thread. :)

I've lost 1.6lb. I was very tempted to round that up to 2, but that would only make next week's weigh in look worse... I'm feeling good and finding any binging urges quite easy to resist - even through a bit of a hard few days.

I could do with sticking with the proper BC rules, especially since I had a couple of small slips in the past two weeks. But I actually think I will allow myself the occasional nuts and a square of very dark chocolate (not daily!), just because I'm very conscious of not wanting to make myself feel deprived.

Hi all, I'm not doing too badly. Overall I've lost 1.5 kilo since starting BC which is 3.3 pounds. Not terrible but not very quick either. My scales are a bit unreliable I think so I might treat myself to new ones: can anyone recommend really reliable scales? I continue to feel not hungry at all which is SO important as that's what will make this doable. I also don't have a massive weight loss that I'm aiming for (I think 10 kilos overall would be amazing ie 20 something pounds).

For those of you who are getting discouraged do keep it up. I am someone who loses weight with GREAT difficulty which I've tested over the years and LC is really the only way I can lose weight. The added bonus of not feeling hungry is I think what makes it possible otherwise I have huge sugar / carb cravings. Please don't give up if you're not seeing such massive weight loss results week to week, it's the overall pattern that matters.

I think I'll remain on strict BC for one more week and then see, as I had one meal with some rice / beans last friday.

Right, off to make breakfast!

Thanks Biwi Flowers You're right 9lbs first was amazing, I didn't expect that much this week, but something!

So Yesterday was pretty typical day, maybe heavier on dairy than usual. I thought I was doing well, maybe I will lose again next week.

B:2 boiled eggs with butter melted over them, garlic butter fried mushrooms with a few chives over the top

L: roast 2 chicken thighs, spinach, avocado, cucumber salad smothered in Mayo

D: rib eye steak with broccoli cheese (double cream mozzarella Parmesan as sauce) and asparagus wrapped in streaky bacon

Also had lots and lots of water, 2 slices of salami and a pickled gherkin and a cube of Russian cheese my mum took over for me, I don't know what is in English, farmhouse cheese, maybe?Confused

Marking place.

No loss this week, I'm thinking it could be a few things, if someone more knowledgable can advise?

I have so little appetite I've been having a breakfast (usually 1 egg prepared in one of the many ways with a couple of slices of bacon OR a sausage)

Then I've not been eating again until dinner, I'm just not hungry for any meals, the ones I'm having I'm forcing down.
Am I eating too little?

The meals I am eating are very meat heavy, (BBQ meats, roast chicken etc) all with salad but still loads of meat. Too little fat?

I'm drinking at least 2.5ltrs water a day but I've not needed the loo in a few days, how does one resolve that without a ton of laxatives? BlushBlushBlush

I'm going to stay on boot camp until I see a result and hit the next stone bracket.

Not sure I entirely believe the 6 pounds the scales say I've lost. Still, I DID hike my feet off yesterday, best part of 12 miles. And I must say, I can walk a lot further now that I've shifted some of my lard.
