Low-carb bootcamp

Final weigh-in - Low Carb Bootcamp - how did you do?!

Morning all.

It's horribly wet and windy here Darn Sarf - bit of a washout this Easter weekend.

Here's the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness for one last time

Not sure how many hardy souls there are left, but hopefully those of you who have stuck the course have had good results.

Once we get to the end of this week, I'll start a general chat thread so that we can carry on logging food, sharing thoughts, asking questions etc.

Not sure when the next Bootcamp will be, but we can use the next thread to keep us going until then, if you want to stay.

Sorry you're so poorly BIWI and thank you for the new thread. Thanks
I'm still here but I haven't been sticking to the rules. Will try harder from tomorrow.

Good luck to everyone with the final weigh in.

Final weigh in at 149.25, would someone be able to add me to the spreadsheet. I think that is a total loss of 17.75 lbs this bootcamp! Thanks BIWI and everyone else for the support. I am planning to stick with this woe.

No weigh-in today as I'm at my mum's but I got to my goal weight this Bootcamp - that's 31 lb in one year. I'm still breastfeeding DS4 who has just turned one so I might lose another couple of pounds when I stop breastfeeding later this year. My new goal is to be healthier and fitter at age 40 than I was at age 20 so I need to concentrate on fitting exercise into my busy lifestyle. I'm not quite sure how to manage that with four kids and a job but it needs to be done.

Hi All
Not been posting during BC as I didn't want my struggles to derail any newcomers to LC! I've been reading posts though and I'm pleased to say that I have finally broken into a new stone zone and my BG is coming back down again. Smile Thanks to Biwi and Stunt who always seem to post good advice just as I need it and to Gcal for food inspiration. Flowers Hoping to join in more now that BBC is finished and the support thread starts.

Biwi my son was telling me the other day that he has found that slices of fresh ginger bruised and topped up with hot water and a dash of lemon has really helped his throat. He says he can actually manage at least one top up from one lot of ginger. Haven't tried it myself as I'm not keen on ginger. I've been drinking Taylor's Pink Lemonade fruity bags. Lovely as a sweet substitute if you like Turkish delight.

For those who are struggling with stalls etc I am living proof that KOKO works!

Thanks for new thread BIWI, sorry to hear you are unwell, hope you feel better soon Flowers

I have STS this week thanks to a difficult couple of days staying with friends over Easter, 6lbs off this BC although I have been doing BC Lite. 46lbs off overall since I started this WOE last April.

I will definitely be on the KOKO thread as I'd like to lose another stone, but even then I will be maintaining, I am never going back!

Congrats to blacktea, Hammer and Stunt, some great results and so inspiring.

Get Well Soon BIWI and thanks for the final week's thread!
I will weigh in tomorrow .... went a bit off piste yesterday, but at least it was planned. Straight back on the wagon today though, and hoping for not too much of a gain when I weigh myself tomorrow a.m.
Definitely planning to be on the KOKO thread too, for maintenance! thanks everyone.

Get well soon BIWI

I weighed in this morning another half a kg down so 9.5 kg overall and 6.5 kg on boot camp. I haven't been very good at keeping the spreadsheet updated cos I can't do it on my phone!

stuntnun that's a good goal and had similar in mind myself but injury/illness has prevented me so far on the exercise front... if you figure out how to fit it in let me know!

Oh and I'll be carrying on... AF has arrived today and I've got minimal symptoms and haven't put on half a stone so just goes to show that this woe suits me and helps me control my hormones

Thanks for the thread, BIWI, sorry you are so poorly Thanks

Forgot to weigh in this morning, will do tomorrow, had an off piste Easter weekend (mini eggs were also involved) so hoping that I'll have STS. Back to it tomorrow. I'm KOKO after BC although still a few more holiday events to get through...

Some fantastic losses on here - well done everyone!

Sorry you are not well BIWI

Looks like there have been some great losses. I am kicking myself for not getting down to it; now down to 3.5 months before DDs wedding and feeling a bit panicky. Glad so many are carrying on, I need the help!

Flowers for BIWI. There is a sugar free cough medicine- robutissin I think plus halls / tunes do sagar free versions. Loaded with artificial sweeteners but might do in a pinch. Also, and I know its not for everyone, but a natural ACV with the mother in water will soothe and kill nasties in the throat xxxx

Congratulations losers!

166.8 here, 25.2 pounds total loss. Very happy with that but still want to lose another 25 and struggling to stay motivated. Really sick of eggs!!

FoodPorn - that's a brilliant loss!

However, if you're getting bored with food, you will very quickly lose motivation. Have you had a look at the recipe thread for inspiration? Lots of ideas there that don't involve eggs.

Congratulations to everyone for sticking it out and for the losses - superb!
I have lost 7lbs since the beginning of January, now 5lbs from goal weight. I have lost and regained the same pound for the last 8 weeks but will KOKO - I like this WOE for so many other reasons. I haven't had a sugar crash or IBS episode for weeks and weeks!! Hurrah!
Thank you BIWI for the threads and everyone for the inspiration, sorry I haven't had much input but it's great to know you're all here. Hopefully see you for the next round Smile

Lurker here delurking to ask a question, hope it's ok to come on and ask, I haven't been following BC so I haven't posted but have found the threads really useful as encouragement.

I have been generally pretty low carb since beginning start of October, lost 10kgs in that time, which I am pleased with but would like to lose another 10kgs if possible. My question is - do people find they need to drop the level of carbs they have as they get lower in weight? I feel I have been eating much the same as I have for a while now (not Bootcamp, hence my lurking!) but I have gone up and down the same half kilo for the last two or three weeks. Do people usually have to go lower carb as time goes on, or is this just a pause / stall? Am KOKO but might start to feel disheartened!

Final weigh in is 138lbs for me so sts. If someone lovely can add me in?
I started a few weeks before official boot camp so my total weight loss since 1-1-16 is 15lbs.
My target weight loss was 13lbs so well chuffed with that!!
Will keep plugging on as generally find this quite easy to follow.
Well done to everyone else who made it... Looking forward to the ongoing thread xx

still not weighed in, keep remembering after breakfast, at best it will be STS though given the mini egg incident

have a sinus/cold thing which means I can't taste anything at all, my tea of sausages and swede mash looked lovely but could not taste a thing, might as well not have bothered, can see me doing a few fast days this week, off to have a ginger and hot water, run out of ACV woe is me

NigellasGuest · 29/03/2016 21:08

Bananarama I think you have to try and lower the carbs even more, but someone else who knows more will hopefully answer your question.

I'm at goal weight - 9 stone on the nose! So happy Grin

Report
BIWI · 29/03/2016 21:11

Banana - it depends. Everyone has a different level of carbs that they can tolerate.

Make sure that you're eating food in the following proportions - fat:protein:carbs.

You may not need to lower your carbs, but you may need to up the fat and protein. And are you drinking enough water?
