Low-carb bootcamp

Will there be a jan bootcamp? If so, when will it start?

Hello! Just wondered if there's going to be a January 2015 bootcamp and when it might start. Really need to get on track with this and no point before Christmas, let's not lie- it'd be a total waste of time.

Why would it be a waste of time before Christmas? By my reckoning there are at least 5 weeks before then.

Because I'll undo any good work over Christmas.

Come join us on the bootcamp threads now, get in a few good weeks, the start in January knowing what you are doing. Just think if you don't start now and write off christmas you'll only be starting in a more difficult position surely in January?

I know it's excuses but I've just had a baby and want to get bf established properly. Plus I know I'll spend all Christmas eating crap so I just can't see the point?

Fair enough on the baby front!!! My youngest is just 7 months, but it took me a good few months to bring myself to get back into it properly. How old is your baby, he/she sound quite new... Congratulations!

In answer to your original question, there will almost definitely be a jan bootcamp, BIWI sometimes does a week's build up to in after Christmas, so keep an eye out for that too. If you do look at the rules at all in advance, stick to bootcamp lite if you are bfing and if you are feeding slot in the night keep some suitable snacks near your bed as others have found this really helped.

More importantly enjoy your new baby and Christmas first!!!

Thank you, yes she's 8 weeks and have a toddler too so been surviving on caffeine and sugar I'm afraid. Need them to get through the day as up quite a lot feeding at night still!
Not sure id cope with low carb and that just yet hence starting after Christmas.
Have a big do end of aug so need to get on track in the new year.
Do I need to do the lite version if I'm bf then? Will it affect my supply!

Baby and toddler - you've more than got your hands full. I can see why you want to wait a bit. But Mrs Koala on the current bc thread is in a very similar situation to you why not start following the thread, reading around and trying a few meal ideas so it's not all new in Jsnuary?

It won't affect your supply at all. The others have just found if they are feeding at night they need snacks so they don't feel light headed in the night/morning. I found when I ate low carb I had more energy and felt better than when I was mainlining cake to get through the days and nights! Obviously sometimes easier said than done. As toomuch says, feel free to pop into the threads and see what is going on and ask any questions so you feel prepared when you are ready to start - it doesn't matter that you aren't a,ready doing it.

Fab idea to follow the threads as a run up. Yes I can imagine I'll feel better but it's that swap over I'm not looking forward to! Confused Have been there before and it's not pretty.
Great, thank you and see you in jan!

I'd work up to it gradually - if you've done it before, you know what you're aiming for!

Try starting with breakfast, and switch from a carby to a non-carby one. Then focus on another meal, until you get to the point where you can make all three low carb.

Ah yes, good plan. A low carb breakfast is probably a good start and might be the reminder of how much better it makes you feel!

Pick your battles though! Do whichever meal is easiest for you first.

MrsHerculePoirot · 19/11/2014 09:57

Do whichever is easier, but I might change breakfast first if you can - this seems to be the hardest as we are conditioned to think toast or cereal! I find if I have good low carb breakfast the rest of the day is easier, if I go toast breakfast I crave carbs all day long...!!!! That may well just be me though..

I'm up for a Jan bootcamp. I followed the rules and lost 1.5st in 3 months. Currently doing 2 weeks uber before I lapse completely for December.

Just wanted to add that über is no fun at all whereas I quite enjoy normal bootcamp rules. But determined to shift my last 4lb before the end if the month so needs must.

Did we figure out a Jan bootcamp start date?

I'm easing myself back into low carbing ready to really go for it in Jan.
