Morning all! Sorry for later-than-usual start to the thread

Hope last week was good, and that you have managed to keep to it despite the fact that we are in the infamous weeks 3 and 4!

Come and confess all on the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness

or on the on the Weight Tracker

If you haven't seen the scales move, don't panic!

This is really, really common - keep on keeping on and from here on, hopefully things will start to move again. And you will know that every pound you lose from here on, will be fat. You are only likely to see losses of 1-2lbs every week, but don't forget how much a pound of fat is - imagine 2 packs of lard, and that's what you're losing for each pound!

Tanukisan - how many grams of oats did you use? They are pretty carby! Around 55g carbs per 100g, so really should be avoided

Tenementfunster – Chinese is quite hard, because they use a lot of thickeners as well as sugar in their sauces. Things I'd go for would be Lettuce Wraps (if they're on the menu); usually a mixture of pork and various vegetables, chopped finely, with iceberg lettuce leaves to wrap around the mixture. If you can (!) avoid the hoisin sauce that will come with it.

Instead of rice or noodles, I sometimes have stir-fried bean sprouts, or stir-fried water chestnuts and celery

At Carluccios, I haven't been for a while, but I seem to remember that they do a sharing platter/antipasto kind of thing - is their menu online?

Just joining in as I want to do the next boot camp and need to get a feel for what I'm doing!

Why don't you just join in ItIsnt all of the rules etc are on tabs at the bottom of the spreadsheet that BIWI has linked to in the spreadsheet.

We are all very helpful and friendly so if you have any questions just ask and someone will try and answer them.

I haven't weighed this week (well I have but I am ignoring it Grin) and have added Fridays weight (212 lbs - lowest for about 3 years) instead. I had a very nice (and carby) weekend with my mum and her friend. I won't tell you what I had but did try to stay LC whenever I could.

Good luck to everyone weighing in Flowers

Morning all,

Unsurprisingly an STS for me today. BUT I have gone down from 40% BF at the start of BC, weighing 11st 7.8, to 38.6% today at 11st 2.2 so even though the scales haven't shifted as much as I'd like SOMETHING is happening.

So this week I'm going to try to keep dairy to a minimum, apart from today's breakfast as somehow I have run out of eggs Shock

B: Lidl yoghurt, cream, cinnamon, orange oil
L: Celeriac soup, crispy bacon
D: Rump steak, roast broccoli, asparagus fried in butter

Best of luck to everyone else who's weighing in today Flowers

Morning Grin

Very pleased this week as I've lost 3lbs despite having a 3 course meal at the football yesterday Grin so thats 7lbs down altogether!

Hello everyone. I'm down 1.3 lbs from last Monday. I'm pleased, but not as pleased as I should be as I was slightly lower on Friday. But there was, I confess, some carby twattery over the weekend so I suppose I have to pay the price now.

Let's be strong together for another week of bootcamp. Goodness knows I need support to look another cauliflower in the eye.

Sayra, thanks. Will just get my head around it so I can figure out what I've been doing wrong and ask some questions later. Grin

Yeah, 2 pounds gone giving a total loss of amost 5 pounds. I had kippers for breakfast today because there was noone around to moan about the smell! Yesterday i made a yummy salmon mousse using smoked salmon that was a bit dried up looking, cream, philly, chives and pepper.

I put on 2 lbs since last monday. Not happy Sad

I haven't eaten differently so not sure why.

Could my loss from last week be misleading since I had a large BM the night before?

Another 2lb for me. Yay! Will try to enter weight later when iPad feels like talking to spreadsheet.
By the way, I feel like I am coming down with the virus my daughter had recently...if I'm not able to eat much, I'll keep it LC obvs but do missed meals/low food intake have an adverse affect? Ie will my body slow down metabolically or whatever??
Well done everyone...can't believe it's week 4 already. Love it.

Morning. Mixed feelings for me. 3 pounds in 4 weeks but better down than up anyway. I was low carbing before bootcamp so probably that is why my results aren't so spectacular. Annoyingly hubby claims he is low carbing as well (only one sugar in coffe, one toast, one bottle of whisky!) and he lost over 4 pounds. Typical Envy

Citrasun · 20/10/2014 11:36

Boo, a lb up this week, but it is my time of the month, so could be that. On the other hand it's probably the couple of carby lapses I had with a couple of family celebration meals last week. I'm not too bothered as I avoided temptation far more than I normally would.

Back on the straight and narrow this week!

2lb down - so quite pleased - making 12lb so far - super pleased with that!

Did have a very 'good' week though...I suspect that this week will be more of a struggle....

Woah, just overcome by the worst cravings ever in the middle of M&S. Found myself stood in front of the chocolate stand deciding what to eat (and it was not going to be a small amount - my binges are legendary).

Anyway, I somehow managed to shake myself out of it and came away with a pack of olives and some crispy bacon strips. I wouldn't mind, but I only went in for a birthday card!

Still feeling a bit on the brink but am going to eat, eat, eat all my LC goodies and will hopefully be too full to contemplate any more.

I'm not on speaking terms with the scales this morning so I might weigh in tomorrow instead.

Morning all just checking in for the week though not weighed yet as it's been Tuesdays every other week I am going to stick with that.
Well done to all the losers and those who STS we just need to listen to BIWI and keep the faith!

Just to harp on a bit more about Meatzza - I didn't use any oats or breadcrumbs - just skipped that! And DH added chilli , a bit of pepper and some mushrooms - we had enough leftovers for lunch with salad.

Have a good day all

So only started on Saturday but am down 3.25lbs already! I know, I know it is probably "just water" or whatever but I am beaming with chuffed ness anyway. I can't seem to work the spreadsheet (on iPad) but have gone from 192.5lbs to 189.25lbs. I have done this before but got lost in endless huge bowls of porridge so I am pleased to be enjoying my eggy breakfasts. Slipped up with a glass of proscecco yesterday but it did seem the least carry drink.

Me too Stunt. I was doing well mid week too! No straying from the path either which makes it more annoying. I do find certain foods seem to cause a temporary blip. I think its down to salt content. Fingers crossed for tomorrow but I think I'll be lucky if its down enough to be a STS.

Report
CharlieSierra · 20/10/2014 13:58

Have been weighing on Tuesdays but jumped on the scales this morning and down 2.3 so I'm logging it. Very pleased with 10lbs in 3 weeks!

Today I've had greek yogurt with a little cream and a few blueberries for breakfast, and leftover Gyoza meatballs and broth for lunch. Will do poached salmon and hollandaise for dinner with greens.

I wanted to try to keep the dairy down this week as I think that worked for me last week, but I made the Chia pudding with almond milk instead of coconut and it didn't cut the mustard (vile actually), so guess it will mostly be muffins for breakfast, or smaller helpings of chia/coconut milk pudding.

1lb down. That'll do. Especially as my clothes feel slightly looser at the waist.

People kept offering me home-made cakes last week. I had a couple of mouthfuls each time, for manners and pleasure. I did not find it difficult to stop, because the people around me knew I was trying to lose weight and were supportive.

Had I been alone then I know I would not have been able to resist! When I am alone I do not take so much as a nibble of carby stuff - it's a slippery slope.

What is chia pudding?

Report
miffy49 · 20/10/2014 14:10

Grab it while you can Charlie! Grin I'm just consoling myself with the fact that my upswings are not as high as they were before BC and that theres been a distinct change in the balance between my fat% and muscle % which does suggest progress.

I bought some chia seed but never got round to trying it. I made the cheesy muffins that someone posted about ?1-2wks ago. Can't find the thread now. Anyway, they are basically cheese, ground almonds and eggs. The first batch were nice texture but a little lacking in flavour so now I add a good dash of salt and pepper and a teaspoon full of mustard and it works a treat. I can't eat too many because of the oxalate in the almonds but they are a really useful grab and go breakfast with a dollop of butter and filling for the size. Smile Keep well in the fridge or freezer too.
