Low-carb bootcamp

Week 8 - Low Carb Bootcamp - Last Three Weeks!

I'm starting next week's thread a bit early as I have to be up and out of the house at sparrow's crack tomorrow.

Here's the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness

And don't forget the weight tracker

It may seem like we're nearly at the end, but still the chance to lose up to another half a stone, if you can lose 2lbs a week!

Hope everyone has a good week. Mine is a bit of a minefield - out tomorrow night to celebrate both of my DCs' birthdays, and then out on Thursday with some MNetter friends, and I don't think we will be drinking sparkling water!

Good luck everyone. Flowers

ooh, I get to christen the thread :)

good weekend chez Heir, we had friends for lunch today and DH made his amazing pulled pork, which we had with grilled halloumi for the veggie option, home made slaw and a fennel/radish/watercress salad (and rolls and corn on the cob for the carbivores) I made the IPD lemon/lime cheesecake for dessert - after mission to three supermarkets yesterday to find the right sf jelly - but a bit disappointed, it didn't really taste of anything and forgot one of the guests doesn't eat gelatine (veggie) so she couldn't have any at all, oops

Welcome home little miss Crabby!

Not sure I'll have lost tomorrow but am feeling good and more like this is totally sustainable than I have before.

Hello all the lovely vv's. Am keeping on keeping on, but rl has stolen me too much last week.

Crabby By the time you read this, I'm hoping the mini crab is safely in your arms. We shall discuss the mentioned things in detail when I find my brain again

Must get back on track after a weekend of carby twatdom. I need to learn to say no to DH. He came home with chips on Friday, sneakily refilled my wine glass when I wasn't looking on Saturday so I had two glasses instead of one, then decided he didn't like yesterday's dinner and went out for Chinese takeaway. Saturday's chocolate 'accident', as in I accidentally ate all the chocolate, was entirely my own fault though. Sigh. Back on the wagon.

Morning all, just over 2 pounds off this week :)
That's 16lbs off on official bootcamp and 24 off since I started a couple of weeks before!

Adding myself in.

We are all ill here - only colds, nothing serious thank goodness - but struggling to keep on the straight and narrow. Can't seem to get the water down. Ah me. I'll do better today.

Good luck everyone

Bollocks, I STS this week. I'm as stiff as a board however, after pilates-on-acid on Saturday morning and running yesterday. I weighed about a lb and a half less on friday so hopefully this is a water fluctuation but I'm still cross [stamps foot]. I was really good all weekend Sad. I'll be doing ubercamp if the scales don't move soon. Mrs Hugh, whooshfuckerfairy, will you please visit me? Grin

crabby i'm really excited for you getting your mini crab back!

Lost a 1lb and am chuffed, really struggling to drink enough water.
I ate loads yesterday, nothing very carby but more food than I usually consume in a day. Just have been having a hungry day.

Good luck happy campers Grin

Down another 0.9lbs. Was thinking that's not much but then realised I've lost 9.5lbs since the start of bootcamp.

And I'm getting tantalisingly close to getting under 11 stone. Surely I can manage another 2.8lbs by the end of bootcamp. I would be delighted. And then be trying to get under 10 stone Sad.

Sarah Maybe your sore muscles are have caused a water fluctuations, if that's possible? I keep meaning to do some exercise but haven't got round to it yet. I'm such a hibernator in winter. I will try some yoga next week now I've found a nearby class.

Pseudo wow! you must be so pleased. Congratulations.

Heir I'm finding it so sustainable at the moment. Last year I tried bootcamp but couldn't say no to the wrong food in social situations. Now I pick pasta out of minestrone soup when I'm a guest for lunch and refuse cake. If anyone asks me I say I've lost x lbs already, it's just not worth it, is it? And then they agree. And actually I don't care if I offend anyone, I want to lose weight more than they want me to eat cake.

Sybil Have you tried drinking warm water? It's a bit rank but easier to get down a sore throat than straight from the tap.

Sound the whoosh bugle

Honk the horn

Finally after a four week stall

I have defeated the whoosh fairy and held her to ransom

Three pounds off !!

So .... Caffeine not an issue for me , dairy not an issue for me - but constantly snacking on LC lovelies and enormous LC meals are a problem !! Lesson learnt ...

Welcome home mini crab
pseudo - that's fantastic - sounds like some new clothes needed for a well done treat .
sarah - back luck - deepest empathy and Grin at Pilates on acid - off to a similar class myself today .

Ok, so take it from me, carby twatness isnt worth it.

Biscuits Fri night.
Sweets and wine Sat night.
Kebab, naan and a bottle of wine last night.

4lb back on Shock
Horrific wind (tmi!), bloated, miserable, defeated.

I feel like Ive blown it all and cant do this any more. I am, however, known for being a drama queen. And Im due on.

Bleugh.

Hmmmph.
Have just entered a 1lb gain on the spreadsheet. At the end of last week I was 2 lb lighter than that. And I haven't been a carby twat at all. Stamps foot. I am not finding sticking to this woe hard at all but my weight loss really is grinding to a halt it feels which is a bit dispiriting. I know it's because I have less to lose than way back when I started but ho hum... I really do still have a good stone and a half still to go. I know I could cut out dairy / caffeine / think about portion sizes etc but I am scared that then it would feel difficult and depriving and I would fall by the wayside. Will just have to keep keeping on I think.
Well done all you losers. Onward and downward the rest of you!

Bit of a whoosh week for me it would seem. 3lb off. 19lb in total. never thought I'd stick to it but have not really missed sugar at all. In fact if I eat something remotely sweet such as a tomato it makes my teeth ache!

SarahBeenysBumblingApprentice · 03/03/2014 08:15

seri that's exactly where I want to get to, short term, under 11st. It's a massive barrier in my head and 10st 10lb is my "anything under this is ok" weight. I'm sure I'm retaining water. It's not fat, not fat at all Grin

Well done mrs hugh enjoy pilates Grin. I've got spinning today which normally undoes running related stiffness bizarrely. ( all my exercise for the week is concentrated around a three day period, I'm not really hardcore).

Well done everyone who is loosing- it's great to hear of people doing well when you haven't- keeps the faith!

kylie and PseudoBadger you've done brilliantly Daffodil Daffodil
and it's lovely to hear MPR sounding positive and StuntNun sounding human though I'm sorry if there's a bit more dismay there than it seems on the interweb. Crabby yay today has come, you must be so excited. You are wonderful for supporting her relationship with her dad. Do you HE btw? I hope you and your crablet have a great day!! Daffodil

I'm 1/2lb up - even in my short recent experience of this I know that after 'whoosh' weeks it all stops, and seems to zigzag along a bit. Last week was a whoosh so this week is therefore ok.
And I've probably allowed a bit of 'carb-creep' into my Bootcamp Lite weekend - no major things like bread but a little bit of brown sauce, a bit of a sweet dip, small quantities of 72% chocolate.
I do like these Daffodil Daffodil d'you think we could keep them?!

Off swimming, which has got a whole lot easier now my body's got the full keto-adapted memo. :)

Thank you all you lovely people for all these good wishes. Daffodil Flowers Daffodil I'm going to show her this thread later! She's currently in the air over Hungary, according to that brilliant flight tracker. Due to land at 11:35. How long do you reckon it'll take for them to get through arrivals? Have got to take crazy cocker and leave her in the car, I think, as she'll be home alone too long otherwise.

Pseudo and Kylie those are fantastic overall losses - well done!

Sybil hope you feel better soon.

Sarah pilates-on-acid sounds like fun actually - taking hallucinogens is probably the only way I'd manage pilates. Wink

Congrats everyone who's had a visit from the WhooshFFairy... Hugh must have been busy last night. Grin

LMiss enjoy your swim and yes we do HE. Never would have got the time off school for her to do this trip.

Well after last week's debacle - 6lbs on then 3lbs off in a day then the other 3lbs off in 3 days Shock I didn't put any back on over the weekend despite drinking far too much wine. I'm still a pound heavier than I was two weeks ago though. 6lbs off this bootcamp overall but I think that's mainly glycogen and water, tbh, rather than fat - ie it would go straight back on if I started eating carbs again. Sad I'm within half a stone of goal weight though so I'm guessing that's why I haven't seen much of a loss this time.

Right, off to have a bath and prepare for airport run! Smile Smile Smile
