What on earth do I give BIWI and CrabbyWinterBottom for dinner?

Yes, I have invited them to dinner in Real Life. Which means I have to feed them some Real Life Food.

Menu suggestions (ideally with recipe links) gratefully received!

Sounds like a fab party!

What kind of food o you like to cook? I think I'd go for delicious comfort food in this cold weather!

Feta cubes dipped in Dukkah - toasted sesame seeds and spices then crushed up are delicious for nibbles.

I think I would start with a charcuterie plate, Parma ham etc, olives and mozzarella... Or cream of celeriac soup.

Followed by slow roat pork belly, celeriac fondant, or mash, spring greens stir fried in garlic butter, mushrooms in cream sauce... Or slow roast beef with courgettes and leeks in cream sauce.

Not sure i could do BIWIs pots au chocolat or the berry crumble of joy for dessert... Not with those 2 guests coming Grin So perhaps a cheese board with celery and the soy toasted pecans / walnuts...

Oh and a Wine or Wine Wine Wine

Have the family coming for the weekend, may have just solved my own food dilemma!

Can you not make Crabby cook?! Grin

I have no idea and obviously neither does anyone else (except thekitchenfairy)

When are they coming or have they already been? If I think of anything then I'll come back and post.

I am hugely disappointed in the lot of you. It's going to be a plate of charcuterie and feta cubes for starters (thanks kitchen fairy) then balthazar's duck shepherd's pie that's been a bit adapted for lower carbs, then BIWI says she doesn't want pudding so I am going to make chocolate fondants and see if crabby can be tempted. And plenty to drink.

I can report that it was lovely and apart from the chocolate pudding and the gallon of wine all low carb!
