I would like to go low carb for my 9 years old she is a bit chabby but very active. Any suggestions what I should replace those carbs specially for dinner having no idea what they eat at school so I should cut the carb in the evening . thanks

Kids need carbs, Don't ;let her snack, don't keep any sweeties crisps in the house, ban pastry. Feed her proper grub but be mindful of serving size. Faddy diets will only make her want to eat more and could lead to an eating disorder. Make sure she gets tons of exercise. Walk everywhere when you can. Pack her off to dancing/cheerleading classes. Just keep her active and don't mention her weight.

Easy. Focus on building your meal around a protein source, so meat/fish/eggs, and then serve a selection of vegetables with it. Just not carby veg like potatoes, sweetcorn, peas or carrots.

Make sure she is eating plenty of fat - children need fat, and fat doesn't make you fat. It's the carbs that make you fat.

She should be getting her carbs from vegetables and salad, and not from bread, pasta, rice, potatoes, sugar/chocolate.

However, she is a child and it isn't fair to deprive her of the things that her peers will be enjoying, so her diet does not need to be as strict as an adult's might be.

Cut out snacks, or make the snacks healthy... avoid processed foods for snacks. Go for fruits and veggies for snacks (Although she may complain)
