Low-carb bootcamp

Week 3 Low Carb Bootcamp - Where we stand at the crossroads ...

Morning everyone.

So, we enter the fabled week 3.

This week you have a choice. You can either continue with Bootcamp or you can move on to Bootcamp Light:

Rules of Bootcamp Light

Or you can do a hybrid - Bootcamp during the week and Bootcamp Light at the weekend. Totally up to you and what you find is working for you the most.

Don't forget to enter your weight on the weight tracker - today you should see your graph appear! Or if you prefer, here is the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness

And now - a word of warning!

It is very, very, very common for weight loss to slow down/stop altogether in weeks 3, 4 and/or 5. This seems to be entirely normal. It's probably to do with your body adjusting to low carbing. You will have junked the glycogen stores and a load of water, and will now be burning fat. From here on, weight loss will - and should be - around 1-2lbs a week

Good luck everyone!

I've stayed the same but feel great.

I will continue with bootcamp -- going into lite on the weekend to have a drink.

No weight loss here sideways glare at DH for serving roast potatoes and worse still honey roast parsnips with our dinner yesterday. I will continue on Bootcamp Light.

Oh my goodness, those graphs are amazing!

Shame mine's pretty much flatlined already Grin. Ah well, onwards and downwards - good luck everyone in week 3 and like BIWI says, don't panic if it all seems to go a bit slow...

Lost about 13lb so far. had a blow out yesterday (a few crisps and 2 wines) at a family do but not too bothered as I've been good rest of time. Gonna move on to lite now as it will be more sustainable for me this way.

Thanks a million for this BIWI.

Morning BIWI, morning evvvveryone.

Arriving here with a 2lbs loss, which is good as I started a week earlier so have just done week 3, so very happy. I am moving onto a hybrid version, so staying on Bootcamp during the week. Still not had gin. Was going to last night, and didn't feel like it Shock

Love the MN weight tracker and graph, looks fablarse. Thanks

Hope the week is good for all!

sorry i forgot to do this at the end of last week:

Biggest loser: Gerrythetootallgiraffeswife

this is just from the spreadsheet, not the online tracker

ALSO if you didn't weigh in on the first week, then i have removed you from the spreadsheet. nothing personal, it's just it screws up the averages to have lots of people with a weight of 0. if you would like to be reinstated just let me know

from now on, i also archive anyone who hasn't weighed in for two weeks. again, this is just to stop the averages going skew-whiff. if you've been removed then you can be easily reinstated - you haven't been kicked off bootcamp so don't worry

Another 3lbs off this week making it just over 10lb in total. Really noticing the difference clothes wise now. Wore trousers that wouldn't do up over Christmas to a party in Saturday night. I couldn't resist a few glasses of champagne but steered clear of the carby nibbles.

This week I'm going to try to rely less on cheese and drink more water. Think I'm going to keep on with full boot camp

Good luck everyone

bravo!

(this is also just from the spreadsheet - those using the tracker will have different people)

Started early so week 3 here, yesterday i'd lost 2lbs this week but have somehow gained a lb overnight so it's 1lb for me. Happy with that. I'll probably do a hybrid.

5lbs down. Very pleased. :)

I'm sticking with bootcamp. I'm not struggling so will keep on keeping on until I do.

Morning all!

end of week one for me so I'm carrying on with hardcore BC

Only 1lb down BUT it is TOM and I'm retaining water like a sponge so I'm hoping it's actually a net loss. We'll see next week...

Today:

Lidl yog
Avocado and chicken salad with mayo
Palak Paneer and cauli rice (with halloumi rather than paneer thanks to Sainsbo's substitution Hmm )

I'm off to order a hundredweight of pork scratchings from Amazon (THANK you whoever had that bright idea!)

I lost 0.8lbs. Maybe TMI but is my little weight loss possible to your period? If yes, than that might be the answer as mine started today.

Another question: is green tea okay?

Morning! :o

Another 2.8lb here, which I'm very happy with, making a total of 5.6lb since beginning.

I had a glass of wine yesterday with lunch (swerves BIWI's big stick) and it was goooood :o so I wasn't expecting any huge swooshes. I think I'm going to continue with bootcamp for the foreseeable future but do bootcamp lite at the weekend (friday/saturday) if temptation arises.

Yesterday's lunch at the pub was quite good (wine aside) - the one we were going to was shut because of a leaky roof, so we ended up in an All Bar One - they do something on their menu called a Skinny Burger, which is a burger without bun or fries, on a bed of what appears to be an undressed salad of baby spinach, cucumber and tomato. I'm not sure they mean you to add bacon and cheese to the burger, like I did, but the option is there on the menu! And it was very nice. I shared a cheeseboard afterwards and avoided the biscuits/bread, much to my companions' delight.... and after that I was too full to want the moussaka I'd made in the slow cooker - so that's breakfast sorted :o

Ok I'm prepared for nothing much happening for the next few weeks.

I've lost another 2lbs this week but I'm sure it's fat not water or glycogen as I seem to have less flub at the top of my hips. And half an inch of my waist.

Yay!

Oh, menu -

B- breakfast tortilla (sausage cheese mushroom spinach in egg and baked/sliced/ served cold)

L- manchaego chicken and chorizo salad

S- snack pack sausage.

D- dunno yet. Possibly prawns. Smile

Can someone explain why it's possible to put on so much weight overnight?? Some people have been experiencing gains, especially after carby transgressions; but how is it possible for, say, a glass of wine and a hobnob to cause a 2lb gain?? Surely ateotd it's still calories that cause fat to be manufactured? Or does the "3500 cals = 1lb fat" thing no longer apply? If not why not?

We'll a couple of pounds this week so that's 6.5 in two weeks. That's nearly half a stone isn't it. That's quite good isn't it? I'm glad I was daily weighing tho or I'd have been v disappointed today. Whoosh fairy obv bypassed me. Going to keep going with boot camp though and keep an eye on the dairy. (Unreasonably disappointed face).

I weighed myself yesterday and I had sts...this morning I am 2 lb heavier. That takes me back to my 13th January weight (which is 6 lb lighter than I was on the 6th).

I think I'm just going to stay on bootcamp, through the week anyway, as I don't find it difficult to stick too.

Tried my first bpc today (ran out of cream). I don't think I'll be having it again I don't like the oiliness on top.
