She will be 12

DH is Jamaican but not from anywhere near a beach

We are not terribly well off but I can borrow some money

We can go on 26th(or 27th) Dec for 1 week

& I am totally lost in websites and forum (fora?) & telephoning people

Can someone point me in the right direction?

Does dh still have family there? What sort of holiday do you want - a beach holiday or a digging up roots holiday?

Its a long way to go for a week imo.

Beach - with a nod to family roots. we won't be travelling up country as it's about 5 hrs from Kingston & DH says it's not suitable for DD

Preferably with sailing & maybe a bit of cycling & music & good food

I don't think we will be able to do it for less than £3K I think £3,500 is more likely but as I am borrowing it the better

I only get 2 weeks off - 1 at Christmas & 1 in August

Going in the summer would be no better

I know there is a flight (BA) to Montego Bay on 26th

But the accommodation then is much more sad

TBH I am now fairly bemused by all the sites/holidays/offers

far the best deal I have found seems to be British Airways - which seems very odd to me.

I though BA were very expensive

BA are often no more expensive than 'budget' airlines, especially when you consider that you get a lot of stuff included as standard on BA (meals, check in, decent luggage allowance, seats together, etc) that you have to pay for on the cheaper flights.

You could try using a screenscraper like Travel Supermarket - it will search all available holidays for you. Look at Money Saving Expert too, for a guide to getting the cheapest holiday.

Really? that is surprising

I am looking at the whole holiday too - not just flights
