Thailand - should the kids have any jabs?

We will be staying in Ko Lanta, at a 5 star hotel for a week over Christmas. Travel advice suggests we should all get Hep A and typhoid jabs but i also read something saying not to bother as it's very low risk. Anyone any advice? My children are 11 and 9.

I would get Hep A and make sure all the childhood ones and tetanus are up to date - for all of you.

I always go by the fit for travel website
www.fitfortravel.nhs.uk/destinations/asia-(east)/thailand.aspx

Being a 5 star hotel is no guarantee that hygiene wont be dodgy. Low risk doesn't mean no risk and for the sake of a few pounds I just don't think its worth not having the jabs personally.

Thank you all, I have come to the same conclusion and booked us in for jabs

also remember 24/7 insect repellent with DEET - dengue etc zone.

your kids must be up to date with all their jabs, for their sake and that of the local kids.
