Hi jikk, I went through my whole pregnancy alone, and my dd is now nearly 7 months. It was easier than I thought it would be, and some unexpected people turned out to be complete stars!

not quite your situation but split from xp 2 weeks after ds2 was born. is actually much easier to get into a routine when on your own. congrats to you

hi jikk,
i went through most of my second pg alone (he dissapeared when i was 3 months). dd is 18 months now and its been hard work but well worth it. i thought i wouldnt cope either but you will be surprised (and on those tearing-my-hair-out days, mumsnet is good for a quick rant or two) . welcome.

Hey jikk

Me and my bf split when I was about 14/15 weeks pregnant, strangely he wasn't too happy about it!

Anyway now have a beautiful 16 month old dd and everything is going well. Me and her dad didn't speak for most of my pregnancy but now we are getting on well and he is a good dad.

Am very excited about going to Uni in September!

So basically was scared and heartbroken at first but the situation has gotten so much better and I am sure yours will too!

hiya. I've been single since the beginning, dd result of a one night stand . Had just got together with my boyf just before i found out i was pg though, but he has not played father at all, we have been having a relationship as normal.

Just wanted to say, though it is very hard going through it all alone, there are loads of plus points - as someone said, it's easier to get into a routine. You don't have to answer to anyone else, you can have a really good close relationship with your baby with no third party to worry about. You also find out who your real friends are ..... best bit of advice i could give is don't be afraid to ask friends/family for help. Took me AGES to reconcile myself to that, i have always hated asking for help.

Good luck, chin up x

I take my hat off to all of you. I have no idea how you do it.

But I do envy you for never having to compromise on discipline, diet, choosing a name, etc.
