Lone parents

Well I'm officially a lone parent / bit of a rant...

Dh and I have finally split up, and it is helping things between us in a funny way. In spite of all the Jeremy Kyle stuff previously, we now seem to be able to hold a civilised conversation...

However, all is not well really. My mum constantly criticises my parenting, undermines me in front of my children and moans at me for going out once every other week. Apparently I should never go out, at all and should be with the children at all times, it's "my place". I'm 27 and like to have recreational times with my friends and I don't think I'm being unreasonable in this respect. I have never been a party animal anyway...

My parents have also made it clear that they will frown upon any choice of future boyfriend I may have unless he fits their criteria, apparently I was stupid enough the first time when I chose my husband.

aaaaarrrrrrgggggghhhhhhhhh

My daughters are being angels though, bless them

Hope things get better.

Pmsl at parents who think they have any choice in the matter. Good grief, as if you haven't got enough on your plate with splitting up, etc, EB.

Imagine one of your dds getting together with some low life man you could see was going be end up causing her pain.

I should imagine that's a bit how they feel and now he's gone they are not going to hold back!

However if they are making it worse take a break from them? Remind them of that wonderful saying - "if you can't say anything nice then don't say anything at all!"
