This looks so cool, what a shame the whole family can't go (horrible fear of 'who is taking care of my children?' )

There are family holidays with PGL, i wouldn't fancy sending my kids alone with PGL (esp teenage girls, see other thread) but the family one seems a good idea.

There is another company that do them here and in france, the older kids stay in a dorm but younger ones can sleep in your room, but still get a full day of actvities with other kids and some family activities too. You can choose to follow a progrmme of activities or relax. Would help if I could rememberthe name .

Guides/brownies/cubs/scouts etc are great for camping holidays and not expensive.

My dss went on PGL holidays from the age of 7 with no problems. They do outgrow it though, 7 to 12 is about the limit, I found.

You can usually get half price or 2 for 1 offers if you keep an eye on the website.

PGL is great if you can get together with friends and send a little group of kids together. Then they have company and it is less daunting than going alone.
