Any parent's here with mental health?
I have Borderline Personality Disorder.
Being a parent is hard work anyways but with my high emotions and numbness with this disorder it can be really difficult.

Hi, sorry you've had 0 replies! Might be better to move this to Mental Health? Hope you're alright.

I'm a single parent with multiple mental health problems including BPD, it's hard and I'm happy to talk.

PTSD and Anxiety. Became easier after diagnosis as I could recognise my behaviours more, although it is still hard. I worry about messing up during Covid, so I’m giving lo as much freedom as I can. Ie shuts herself in her room and tells me how relaxed she is.

I have previously had anxiety depression and was highly medicated. Been off them now about 18 months and seperated from my husband of 13 years (together 16 years) back in September and as much as life is easier on the relationship part without him as a partner, I find it very difficult dealing with the break up, our daughter (10&7) who live with me and now with the virus etc, the anxiety is slowly sneaking in because of the unknown and lack of structure and routine, I am adamant that I do not want to go back to meds so am now having to adopt cbt and therapeutic techniques to try and help as I have lost my shit a few times over the last month and I dont want it to affect my daughters. I hope you are ok...I understand the struggles xxxxxx

I have cptsd, anxiety and it's becoming apparent that I have depression too.
I am on the waiting list for trauma therapy and really struggling to cope at the moment.
I also have physical health issues too and I am so unhappy and lonely.
Sending solidarity and hope for brighter days.

Lockdown is terrible for everyone but for those of us with MH issues and alone with kids just makes it unbearable in my opinion, struggling so hard to just keep us all alive most days.

Yeah agreed @sunny. I'm still working throughout and have no family support. Lucky my exh is still involved as a dad but he doesn't understand the level of overwhelm I have at the moment and sadly none of my friends are seeing it because they all have their own lives. Even my single mum friends have family support bubbles and most have boyfriends too.
I feel like a shit mum. The house is grim, the garden is unkempt, the kids bedrooms are awful. I don't know where to start and everyone else and their dog seem to be out having amazing country and beach experiences, building extansions, decorating, landscaping, renovating, not at home crying and wondering how to get up and keep going every day.
It's awful

Thank you @pixipoo! I really need to hear that and make it my mantra. I'm planning on making a series of strong phrase art, not live laugh love, but just stuff like that and 'we can do hard things' etc for my benefit primarily because I talk to and about myself in a terrible way and it wouldn't hurt my kids to read those kind of statements either.
Maybe a family art and craft activity Star
