...and i have to make a decision whether to go out in warwick or the west end

...I don't actually have any going out clothes and only trainers and a pair of yuk bootie footgloves i once wore to a civil service interview as an immigration officer

where are you datees..not messing around with kids and tea and stuff surely

Pinkchampagne Thu 30-Aug-07 16:49:11

Oooh, a date!

Could this be an excuse to go out & treat yourself to a nice new outfit?smile

Pinkchampagne Thu 30-Aug-07 16:49:58

When are you meant to be going on your date?

zippitippitoes Thu 30-Aug-07 17:05:24

not before next tuesday lol

i have to decide though i suspect it's him with the full diary not me

maybe next weekend

I will have to invest somewhat heavily in something to wear etc

he suggested dinner in the west end whatever that means makes me think of eastenders and then a romantic evening..but also said he could come here if i prefer so i am deciding

if i go to london i shall have to stay in a hotel i think or with my big sister or find out what train i can get home

he will book when Imlet him know

I don't particularly fancy him and haven't exchanged any emails with him lol

Pinkchampagne Thu 30-Aug-07 17:10:36

A night out in the west end sounds great! I'm quite envy at the very thought of that!

Where did you meet him?

zippitippitoes Thu 30-Aug-07 17:24:38

just a random off soulmates who actually answered one of my emails

i sent him this message

Hi i'm not tall i don't live in london and i'm otherwise unsuitable

so he asked me out

and I said ok then

he works in finance in the city and speaks arabic as one of his second languages

and is tall

Pinkchampagne Thu 30-Aug-07 17:41:16

Lol at your message! It obviously did the trick!

You may fancy him more when you meet him in the flesh!

It all sounds very exciting to me, and I think this date definitely calls for a shopping trip to treat yourself to a nice new

zippitippitoes Thu 30-Aug-07 17:43:35

he looks fine if slightly pissed in his photo just not my type...

Pinkchampagne Thu 30-Aug-07 19:47:27

You might be pleasantly suprised when you see him in the flesh though...maybe he just takes a bad picture!

zippitippitoes Thu 30-Aug-07 20:34:59

I have a feeling that he is another one night stand offerer....

he is good looking just I don't fancy him on first instinct

how do i work out if he is just thinking shag, apart from the fact he has jumped straight in with a date

Pinkchampagne Thu 30-Aug-07 20:37:37

What makes you feel he is after a one night stand?

zippitippitoes Thu 30-Aug-07 20:48:49

He doesn't say a lot which on the guardian seems to be code for no need to say much as you are going to be talking/seeing me outisde the bedroom

he mentions the words honest and fun

and most telling of all he is single, divorced and separated hmm

zippitippitoes Thu 30-Aug-07 20:49:14

not outside the bedroom

zippitippitoes Thu 30-Aug-07 20:51:21

or he just filled it in really quickly hmm

he does say he has young children "so my ideal partner will be able to handle that element of my life"

Pinkchampagne Thu 30-Aug-07 21:06:00

Men are often creatures of few words when it comes to phone, text, e mail etc, so it may just be that he comes across that way, but he may be very chatty when you meet him.

zippitippitoes Thu 30-Aug-07 21:20:41

ok I was supposed to pick a day after tuesday next week so i just sent him what about next weekend and he has sent back Lovely! Bring your overnight bag

um our entire conversation has consisted of yes dinner

he's going to book a hotel isn't he or think i'm going to his

zippitippitoes Thu 30-Aug-07 21:26:09

help where have you gone..

should i just send him I can stay with a friend?

zippitippitoes Thu 30-Aug-07 21:28:34

where are you advisors when i need you

have told him don't worry I can arrange to stay somewhere no problem

Boco Thu 30-Aug-07 21:29:09

Ooooh Zippi, this man is a fast mover - that's rather forward. Do you want to stay over with him? You need to have a place to stay and someone who knows where you are and where you're going to be.

Can i ask? - what are you hoping for from this - you don't fancy him, don't see a future in it - do you just fancy a nice night out and a bit of an adventure? Not leading questions, just curious really.

zippitippitoes Thu 30-Aug-07 21:33:08

they are all fast movers..

I could fancy him, I just don't know him

he appears to be a city finance person who is over 6 foot 2 and er likes his pets and eats out a few times a week and is 41

zippitippitoes Thu 30-Aug-07 21:36:34

I have a lovely apartment come and stay with me if you like

and phone number

I'm sure he has got a lovely apartment, he looks like he is very well off indeed

Pinkchampagne Thu 30-Aug-07 21:36:38

Oh that is a bit on the forward side!hmm

Boco Thu 30-Aug-07 21:37:44

Do you want to stay in his lovely apartment?

Pinkchampagne Thu 30-Aug-07 21:39:01

Maybe him coming your way would be a better idea.
Make sure you let a friend or someone know that you are going on this date, and take your mobile with you, then you could text them to rescue you if needed!
