Thanks everyone. It ended up taking most of the day. Cafcass has ordered section 7 report and final hearing in a few months.

Absolutely rung out emotionally after at all.

Really appreciate all your support xxx

I bet you're glad it's over . What's a section 7 report? Hope you get some rest soon. I've been there and may have to go there again Sad

Hope you are ok. Not sure how old your children are but if old enough their wishes will definitely be taken into account. Xx

Had to leave work early yesterday. Couldn't stop shaking. Think must be delayed shock. The whole thing was so utterly horrible.

Section 7 is ordered by cafcass and means they'll come to both homes to assess each parent and then probably see dc at school separately before making a final report up court.

Thinking of you, final hearing for me in 6 weeks ish. It's such a long, emotionally draining process

Be prepared, take your own copies of all legal papers just in case, wear waterproof mascara and take tissues. Make a list of what you need to say to cafcass on the meeting.

Pen and paper to take notes as you'll forget things in the stress. Get there early, check what court you're in and then find a room to sit in if you can before the hearing.

And be careful about what you say. I said some stuff to cafcass in my stressed upset state that I wish I hadn't.

Good luck!

@lrl2019 have you had the cafcass home visits yet?

@Hullabalooo yes I have. I've got the section 7 report back, but he has contested it so got to go to a final hearing. I found the visits ok, ended up have one visit just me (they won't conduct it if the child is there) and one to visit the child at home (home in my case due to only being of a young age)

I said some stuff I wish I hadn't but report went in my favour. I was highly stressed when they came. The first hearing for me was ok but so drawn out as he said he would make an agreement. Gave what he wanted and he went back on it all. Spent hours and hours in court back and forth between solicitors and all I did was worry about the solicitors fees. Cafcaas were helpful though. I took a solicitor with me and found that helped as he calmed me so much. All in all spent about minutes in actual court room.
