(11 Posts)My children have broken the lock mechanism on one of my upstairs windows. It is the whole window that opens and it is windy. No doubt it is going to smash. No one will come out to it till Monday, despite my willingness to pay a call out fee. No one to help. Struggling financially and took a shit job to pay the bills. Will now lose it as I don't see how I can leave the actual house until it is shut so no work Monday. I could throttle my children for their carelessness and lack of understanding that things cost money. And now my neighbour has phoned and made me cry by offering to help and I just feel like I can't do it anymore. It's just too much.
let your neigbour help. (yay for neighbours)
jam it shut with something
is it pvc?
Deep breath and cup of tea. Phone neighbour back say thank you I would really appreciate your help and accept the help there is no shame in asking or needing help sometimes.
Sorry about the window OP, I would let the neighbour help or do you have any duct tape/string that would hold it shut in the wind?
Some days are really hard
Write today off as a bad day and do something fun with your children tomorrow! Your window can be fixed, it's annoying but there are worse things could happen
Thanks. We got it sorted. It is shut but will need looking at if I ever want to open it again! Awful how something so small can really set you off. I was so sobbing sat on the stairs at one point! Anyway, it helped k owing people were there so thank you.
I get in a real panic if something goes wrong in the house. I have never had my own place before. I have had no light in my bathroom for 3 years because I can't figure out how to get into the light fitting to change the bulb. There are lots of bigger things that need doing but they just sort of floor me and I have a disproportionate reaction to it.
I have stupid twinkly lights in the kitchen and I have broken all but one of the bulbs trying to replace them. I don't know how to turn the electricity off so have had to leave it like that.
Oh ponzi you made me laugh. When I bought this house I loved it, absolutely loved it. Didn't give a second thought to the high ceilings. I need someone to change light bulbs as I can't reach when stood on a chair! Thankfully my eldest can now reach so things have improved but I feel your pain xxx
This is to cheer you up.. My DS put an ikea plastic cup in the oven . I cook tea..I have melted cup al over my overn..Have been on my hands and needs with a knife trying to pick dried up melted plastic off the fan...my house stinks of melted plastic..
Something always happens.. Sometimes they go horribly wrong...However on the plus side I managed to connect x box up with a HDMI cable ..A job I avoided all week and did that relatively easily.
Sometimes it is tough but take the help when it is offered..I am terribly bad at asking.
final straw syndrome, bekieve me it has take much less than a broken window to set me off.
I can't cope with my 6 half year old daughter. Always naughty .says weird stuff. Just constantly. At school she brilliant. Told er that er birthday party wil be cancelled.just sick cryin
