I'm slightly upset today.
Not my new partner (don't have one) but my ex's. I think she's overstepped the mark with what she wrote in my daughter birthday card.
I'm probably over reacting but considering she only met my daughter in November and is the 5th girlfriend the children have met in 4 years!
Would you write all my love?

She might write that to everyone, though. I usually write 'love' for close friends, 'with love' for close family and reserve 'with all my love' for my DC, but I'm sure lots of people don't think that much about it and I doubt anyone else even notices.

Was your DD upset by it? If not, then it doesn't sound like that big a deal and it's nice she got a card. Unless there's more to her behaviour than just the card, of course.

I wouldn't worry about it, she just sounds like she's one of those people who are very expressive in their cards

Well your dd recognised that. She will always love you as her mum and none can occupy that role but you. You are the most important person in her world. Smile

Some ppl are very affectionate in their language and throw it around willy nilly. Or she might be trying to ingratiate herself with your child. Or trying to impress your ex with her SM potential Grin.

The important thing is that she likes your dd and she's kind. That's the way I view ExH's gf - she's another pair of eyes & another person who cares for my dcs and that's to their good.

Unless there's anything else worrying you don't overthink it.

You're overreacting. see it as a good thing that she cares enough to write that in a card.
