I'm not speaking to my parents and his dad won't look after him until Thursday. I need a break I feel so ill. Don't know what to do. What do other people do?

Oh it's so hard isn't it. This was me a couple of weeks ago, i couldn't even get dressed.
Do you have a friend who could watch baby for a couple of hours or nursery?

Poor you, it's grim being ill when your dc are little.

I have asked my neighbours before to have DS. Could you do that?

So hard! I'm in a refuge so can't have visitors and 1 of my close friends is in hospital and the other is on holiday. He's at that age where he can crawl but not walk and pulls out everything so need to watch him! X

I don't know your financial situation, but having a flexible childminder that can take your baby in at short notice is something a lot of friends did for this..or getting an extra slot an nursery. Otherwise it's just friends. I really hope you feel better soon. It's incredibly hard being ill with a baby.

Ok..just seen you are in a refuge so my suggestions won't help. In that case electronic baby sitter and a play pen...can you access either of those?

Thanks smiling. I have a travel cot up in his room and a laptop but he would probably try pull it apart. Bit stuck really. I could ask one of the other women here but I don't know them that we'll.

Be easy on yourself, make sure the basics are covered but don't plan anything exciting! Sleep when baby sleeps. Ask for help where you can, do you have a homestart in your area or similar charity? If the sun is shining try to get out if you can even for a few minutes it can really give you both a boost and stop you becoming stir crazy.

I was ill all last week with a chest infection, I made sure the essentials were covered, got my Son to and from school, brazenly asked people for help,Ordered take aways, cooked basics, ignored the washing pile. Ex was supposed to visit for a couple of hours yesterday but cancelled because he had a cold (I hit the roof!)

Tuck yourselves up in bed together...make sure baby is fed and clean. The rest can wait if your ill. If you have a TV use it. No harm in entertaining little ones with cbeebies to give you an hours rest while poorly. That's all I did...stayed in bed when had flu and just wrote a few days off. Then when your feeling better...get out and make up for lost time. Hope you feel better soon xx
