Any positives?

I'm considering leaving my emotionally abusive partner, who is dad to my 3 year old. I am terrified. I have MH problems and no job, and struggle a lot. I hope it will get better when I'm not being mistreated anymore, but I don't know for sure.

Are there any positives to being a lone parent? I am so scared, I'm tempted to stay in this situation because I'm scared of the alternative, but I don't want my son to grow up thinking he should treat women like that. I can't talk to my partner about it, as he can get very angry and smash stuff, and I fear he'd get violent.

Op, even though my ex left me. He was abusive, the best thing he did for me was leave!

I understand that in 5 weeks my life is about to get very difficult although I'd choose this over having my ex in my life.

My life as a lone parent is way way better than the abusive relationship I was in. Speak to women's refuge they will help you. X

You may well find your MH improves if you are on your own..Mine certainly did leaving my abusive ex.

My ex also left me but I think he did me and DD a favour. Positives are:
Bed to myself

Hope it works out for you - I am sure you will feel better without an angry bully around.

You answer your own question op. Of course your mh will get better! You will be at the very least in control of your life again. Start planning and getting organised straight away. Bet you're back to work within a year!

Being single parent is a doddle compared to being constantly stressed by a crap relationship trust me I've been there I left exh when I had a 3 year old and was pg with dc2. Being a lone parent is task heavy but not emotionally destroying
