(11 Posts)Don't get me wrong my ex was a complete twat but i do miss little things like having someone to kill the spiders or to put my freezing feet on in bed 😝
Help with diy & painting.. I'm utterly shit! ;)
But i've got a double bed to myself & it kind of makes up for it!
Not a single thing. Being single is infinitely preferable.
I have built up a circle of people I ask to do my DIY...
I actually miss someone to share my proudness and the funny things my DS says. No one else is truely as interested as I am ( although ex wasn't really anyway)
I agree with you on that one Sharon my ex isn't that interested in anything ds gets up to. He leaves everything to me!
For DIY I just pay a handiman. You can find cheap people online and if you ask around. And I have a gardener once a month sometimes twice.
Nothing. At. All.
Can I be crass and say that right now the only thing I'm hanging for is the physical side of having a partner. Pretty much everything goes else I can do alone. Lol,
I don't miss the DIY with mine - it took three weeks to deliberate where to drill in a screw.
SoulSista - I am with you! Not with ex though...
I'd also like a shag, definitely not with the ex though.
I miss someone to talk over the dc problems and changes with. I miss someone to rely on and fix whatever problem was happening.
My ex is a lying dick but he is also very practical. He'd clean the toilet/oven, do school runs, kill spiders, cook tea, sort out dcs homework, run me baths, rub my feet and look after me if I was ill. I really miss my hair being stroked before I go to sleep as well.
However I don't miss him shouting at me or the dc, I don't miss his control freak shit, I don't miss arguing whether it rained yesterday or not and then following on from that argument he would pack a bag and sleep in the garage for 3 days, I don't miss him always thinking I was cheating and him doing everything he could to prove it and catch me out and I really really really don't miss his fucking drama with his ex.
Being able to pop out to the shop or whatever and having someone else there to keep an eye on the DD's whilst I do so. Though as they are getting older it's less of a problem. The very occasional help I used to get with some of the wife work, putting away laundry etc, as its now all on me (it pretty much was anyway but there was at least a small chance of some help).
Having another adult on family days out. (Though mostly just go with friends now so again that isn't too bad).
