one night stand advice

Hi all,
I need some advice on how to have s.. with no strings -never had one. I am not the out going type at all, don't go to pubs etc, so it's not easy to find people. How do I know if the man on websites are good enough ie wont film me/cause other harm? I have a child, demanding job and don't want to spend much time on finding out on someone with whom I would not have relationship. My concerns are i) how to find out if it is safe to go to his place, what if there are others who attack me there? ii) I don't want to bring strangers to my flat iii) is hotels a way out? Are they alright with people checking in for one night stands? iv) what are some sites I can register to? Heard of Craiglist etc but not sure of the men. I will be very happy to hear your experiences please. v) are there massage parlours for women in Edinburgh?
Any sharing of experiences will be much of help.

Do not meet a man for the first time by going to his house or coming to yours and I wouldn't book a hotel either. Arrange to meet in a bar, see if you even connect and take it from there.
