Just a rant about flaky ex

I am ill. Ex picks the DC from school on a Thursday and keeps them for tea, bringing them back around 6pm. Reluctantly, I texted him and said as I am still feeling rotten and having to take a lot of painkillers, is there any chance he could keep them tonight and drop them to school in the morning.

He text back. No, he can't, as his girlfriend is coming over tonight and he hasn't seen her for days [hmmm]

I know it's not his normal contact time, but FFS seriously? I knew I shouldn't have asked him, I knew he would have an excuse. I don't know why I do it.

So as not to drip feed, since he got with this girlfriend a few months ago, he thinks nothing of having her around the kids, and being around her kids. He cancelled contact with our DC a few weeks back as he "had plans" and never offered to make the time up to them.

I swear sometimes my DD is a yo-yo the way her dad drops her and picks her up as it suits him.
The other weekend which was due to be his contact 6pm Friday to 6pm Sunday he collect her 10 am Saturday as he had something important to do on Friday night (rugby World Cup) and dropped her back 12pm Sunday as he had an important meeting (rugby World Cup).
I have learnt that I can not rely on him at all and just have to cope.

I usually cope fine without and don't even ask for fear of his excuses, but we have been getting on so much better lately and I really feel so absolutely rotten. I wish I hadn't.

He also brought them back nearly 45 minutes early Angry
