I applied for child maintenance through CMS as my baby daddy hadn' t given me a dime. The twins were born in June and I made the claim in August. He was asked to pay 580 every month and till today haven't received a penny. He now owes over 1500 and I'm more disappointed w CMS as I feel by now they should have started deducting the money from his wages. At first he ignored their letters and then he said he will b away for 4 weeks and then he denied paternity they asked him to pay for the DNA test and he refused. He came to c the babies after seeing the letters persuaded me to drop the case I refused. He then offered to pay 250 per month and I asked for 400 he refused.I'm more annoyed w CMS as I feel they r not being efficient.Would love to hear ur experiences w CMS.

The amount he owes builds up since case is open.

My advice phone them back weekly for progress. It seemed to help me with CSA

His debt will build and build and should he continue ignoring them, he'll get summoned to court. Call weekly for updates and try to do your best getting by without accepting less than what he's obligated to do so.

Thank your lucky stars that he has a regular job where they can deduct directly from his wages. My ex husband is self-employed and I can tell you that that has been a living nightmare. They are limited to what they can do when someone is self-employed. You need to keep on top of the CSA, if you leave it they can easily fuck up and forget things. My case has been awful, they have made so many mistakes and told me one thing and then done another. Keep on it and get them deducting from his salary.

Thank u guys so much, I love this site it gives me strength to go on and reassures me that I'm not the only single parent out there.I'm hoping CMS will cum thru for me, apparently my baby daddy hasn't been cooperating w them and they r hoping to put the EDO by end of next week.I also realise I wanted this guy to b a daddy instead of him wanting to b a daddy.Wot hurts most the last time he saw the twins he was telling them how much he has messed up and how he will help me to raise them.Wot a load of rub*ish, haven't heard or seen a dime from him, how can someone b so heartless.

Be aware that if they are putting the EDO in by the end of next week it may not be taken until the end of January, December wages are often paid early so next week may be too late for it to take effect this month. If it doesn't start till the end of January you can't guarantee any money until nearly the end of February, it is a slow process.

I'm aware, they actually said the earliest will b January.I will b happy w that, at least I will b guaranteed he will b paying something.I don't think he thinks they can actually do that.
