Feeling lonely

This is my first thread so I apologise for not using the necessary jargon! I am feeling so low today and was hoping there were some other mums out there who know how I feel.
I split from my parents father last year. We have two wonderful daughters aged 8 and 4. We have ben fortunate to remina friends through the split and contact is split, I have slightly more contact than him but it measn the girls spend just over half the week with me and the rest with him. It is working well and the girls are happy and settled which is the main thing.
They have been with their dad for the last two weeks of the holiday. I get them back tomorrow, and have seen them a couple of times over the past week, but I am so unbelieveable sad and lonely today and feel like I am missing out on so much of their lives.
I instigated the split and because of this have been as reasonable as possible with contact, I also think it is the right thing to do, but I am in so much pain not being with them.
Do any other lone mothers feel like this? sad

Yes, long spells apart can be really tough sad But long weeks apart only tend to be holidays, so hopefully this won't happen again for a while.
Maybe you could suggest that during the next long holiday you have alternate single weeks, so that you don't get such a long break?

I was actually thinking the same thing yesterday, so thank you Blackdaisys, that's really good advice. They are home tonight and I literally cannot wait grin
