If your a current lone parent with resident children and fancy offloading or a rant or have a question you want to ask others who are currently in your situation and you want to do it in a safe place

And you don't want to ask an NRP or a step parent or none parent then why not ask in here.

Thanks Sock, I think it's a great idea to have a running thread for people who are all in the same boat at the moment.

I thought that was what the 'Lone parent' board was for , same as the 'Step-parenting board is for stepparents and so on ?

Well it's meant to be, but have you not noticed that if certain topics are asked about then you don't tend to get that result.

It's a bit like posting in AIBU (where people would post if that's they type of conversation they wished to have) people who want to avoid that usually go into the sole topics but unfortunately lone parents has become a bit of a attraction to a certain type of poster.

Few issues with GFs at the minute Baah. Am sure it win't be long before they are posting in this thread in indignation as well Grin
My lone parent issue is how does one unblock a toilet in the simplesy way possible ? ' hard stare at DD'

And no GFs. I WON'T be asking pratty Ex to do it for me.

In my head, plungers are in the same category as toilet brushes. The thought of all that crud sitting around!

I currently favour the hot water from a height method.

I have been known to wrap a towel round the end of a broom and tightly wrap with plastic bag or three (this was when I lived with ExH bleugh). Didn't have a plunger but this worked no bother.

Oh I see but eh ? Grin to talk of plungers and toilets. Btw what are GFs ?

Actually I've also used it recently too, put a pot of soup down the loo that was a bit of a disaster and it clogged up.

Depends what it's blocked with? Arm in a carrier/bin bag and fish it out?

Bleugh to Exh or shitty home made toilet brush Bet you won't see that on Blue Peter Grin

I think Monet is referring to the girlfriends of the NRP who often frequent other boards. They appear to have got mixed up and have started posting frequently on this board forcing NRPs right into every post (even where it isn't necessary, we all know the NRP rights), and seem to be advising things in the NRPs favour which could actually be quite dangerous to the RP and children.

It was a home made plunger, don't worry I didn't use that particular towel for anything else Grin

Plunger. Stern telling off of culprit. Then rationing toilet roll when said child goes to the loo, I leave out plenty for them to wipe with, but not quite enough for them to block the toilet with.

TBH I don't think they'd dare do it again after mummy blew her top and had to go out to the shed for the plunger one dark, freezing evening last november. I think a lesson was learnt.

GFs are goady fuckers . The acroynm grew out of similar issues in the feminist board IIRC. Similar here . MRAs. ( mens rights activists) F4J sympathisers etc.

And pmsl at GFs being girlfriends. I luffs MeepMeep Grin

Why would you need to put soup down the toilet ? Shock

Haha goady fuckers... girlfriends... Same difference on this board is it not Grin

How else do you dispose of horrible soup? (it was a new recipe and it was not nice). Surely I can't have been the only one? Surely? (Don't let me be the only one)

Ahhh... Goady Fuckers. All makes sense now!

I have no toilet unblocking wisdom to impart (the only method I've ever needed is a stern look & the words 'You are not leaving this house until that turd does.' Touch wood!) but I would like to jump on board too if that's ok?
