Lone parents

Shall we ask MNHQ for a single parents holiday reviews section?

Since there are different considerations for lone parents, thinking that a separate section would be really useful.

I've noticed a few companies like Mango, Small Families run specialist holidays for lone parents - and would be really interested to hear reviews on these.

Also, other companies run short breaks for singles - like walking, cycling, camping weekends in the UK. So if your other half has your kids for the weekend, these look really good for getting away, if you like activity-based weekends.

Any thoughts?

I'm actually interested in something like this, I'm happy taking the DCs away by myself but sometimes it would be nice to be with a group of people just so that I'm not having to constantly entertain them.

Also I look at single holidays for whenever the DCs are with their dad.

I think that's a good idea. I've been away camping with single with kids , which was good fun. I d like to know how it compares with other groups though.

Oh yes. Usually team up with family but might be going it alone this year and want them to have fun without me having to be chief redcoat and with the possibility of some adult company.

Have asked MNHQ and will let you all know what they say.

Paneer, which ones have you been on with Single with Kids? I think I saw a Kinderhotel in Austria one which looked good, would really like to do an activity-based one. Ex-p was never much interested in walking and cycling and thinking this is now a great opportunity to do all the stuff I wanted to do!

A list of companies that offer single parent holidays would be fab, I haven't taken my daughter away in years as everywhere seems to want to charge full adult price for her, and I seriously object to paying that for a child, teenager is arguable, but a child in primary school!!!!!
