Do I send him a Father's Day card?

The situation is:

Dd 14 months
He hasn't seen her for almost three months
In that time, has contacted me four times with various promises about contact with dd that weren't followed through. One time included us staying in all day waiting for him to come online.
Has lied about his access to a phone and the Internet.

Do I still have to send him a Father's Day card from dd?

No of course you don't have to!

Horrible situation for you, but the one silver lining is that your DD is only 14 months old and therefore unaware of what Fathers Day is ....

Sorry he's such a twunt. But by refusing to act like a parent, he cannot expect a card thanking him for being a parent, can he...??

NO! Different if he was an actively involved father but he's not so under the circumstances I wouldn't.

Thanks :) I was worried my disappointment in him was clouding my judgement but glad to know I don't have to send him one. And that's true it would have felt very weird to send him a card for being a father when he doesn't act like one at all!

Absolutely not. My Ex buys his own Fathers Day cards Wink

No, on so many levels.

My ex is getting nothing from me.

I have requested that a support worker involved with our family spend her next session with dd making Father's Day card. I will courier it to contact centre. He will scrumple it up in his pocket.

It will not have my writing in it, the only reason he's getting that is because im proud that she has learnt about mark making and she will enjoy it.

I have just bought ds's dad a card and it was horrible, I'm still not sure whether I am going to pass it over. I purposefully avoided cards with any reference to being the best dad ever etc.... but I wanted to give him a card as a reminder of his son, and that he was missing out on something wonderful (he visits about him about every 4-6 weeks and my ds is 15 months)

Not if he is being so useless.

Make sure you keep a diary of his lack of effort.
