What can I do??

Im a 23yo single mum living in Glasgow. My daughter is almost three months old, I never know what to do during the day, i have friends who work during the week so its mostly my daughter and I. Does anyone have any ideas of places i could go? I quite like traveling far, like Edinburgh on the train ( don't drive) i just feel stuck in a vicious circle between home & Glasgow city centre! Help!!

Parents & Toddlers, swimming, parks, libraries, Botanics, Transport Museum, Riverside Trail and Kelvingrove Museum toddler session if they are still running. If you go to Parent & Toddlers you can invite people to meet for coffee and a chat.

Further a field on the train there are shops, castles, lochs, heritage trails etc in Dunblane, Stirling, Linlithgow and Ayr. The Falkirk Wheel, Heritage Centre in Livingston and Gorgie City Farm in Edinburgh if you get off at the Haymarket.

Sure Start centres?
Parks are great even in the winter, super places to learn to walk and get a bit grubby whilst you're learning (early days I know). Also super for collecting leaves and rolling around in them, spotting birds, meeting new people with babies (or grandparents who would like to coo over your baby), feeding the ducks. The list is endless!

Queenofthepirates, there is no Surestart or Gingerbread in Scotland - sorry not trying to be a smartarse, just save op a bit of looking.

Baby groups or Bounce and Rhyme type things at the library are good places to meet other parents so you can start doing things together, either out and about or at each others homes.

Soft play (Whale of a Time in Southside and Jungle in the cityin Partick) don''t charge for babies as far as I remember so are good places to meet if people have older chidren. Queen's park has a little reptile/bird house and coffee bit that is a free thing to do on a wet day. All the free museums are nice for a wander around too.
