Hi all, just wondering how often your DC have overnight contact with the nrp, and how much is usual.

Me and XP split in 2009 and he moved in with his Dad, he wasn't allowed the boys to stay there, so they didn't. Then he moved in with someone, and started having them every other weekend which we were all happy with.

That relationship ended last year so he moved back in with his Dad, so again no overnights. (we did briefly get back together in that period but I think it's irrelevant)

Anyway, 2-3 months ago he met, and moved in with someone with children (I'm not happy that he introduced put children to her so quickly as it's too fast imo). He had the DC to stay last weekend, and just text me asking to have them again this weekend. I've said no as we have plans, but have said he can have them on Sundayas usual. He had said I'm being unfair, but I think alternate sat nights is fair otherwise I'd never get a weekend day tospend with them.

EOW and one day during the week seems to be the usual. I don't think you're being unfair to say no as both parents need to have quality time together with their DC. Is it possible for him to have them Fri/Sat night EOW, that way he gets them two nights as opposed to one but you also get weekends with them?

I don't think he could do a week night due to work, but I'm not sure what hours he works these days.

As it is, they are with him every Sunday so I only get 1 day with them. I'll think about suggesting he had them Fri-sun, that might work.

Mine go EOW and on the Monday night on the alternate week. Would suggest either a full weekend on alternate weekends or a 24 hour period every week. It's nice he is trying to fit them in to his new life - a good time to let him have a little extra if you can so they don't feel excluded from his new family. Agree it's fair that you get half the weekends with them though.

Oh yea, I definitely want him to have them, they need to spend time with him, and while I don't agree with him introducing her so soon, what's done is done.

I'm going to suggest he has them every other weekend, with room for changing dates if we need it.
