working tenant or HB?

If I were to work part time, but still get all/part of my rent paid by LHA, does that make me a working tenant or would I still be ''DSS'' ?

I'm just wondering if it is the social esteem of being employed, rather than where the actual rent is coming from, that makes agents/landlords happy to accept working tenants?

Its the actual housing benefit whether employed or not. Many mortgages and insurances forbid HB tennants so you could invalidate the insurance in the event of a fire etc.

Yes you would be seen as a "DSS" tennant if claiming HB as its the old phrase for it but its still used by landlords to state whether or not they will accept HB tennants.

It's worth phoning up and asking. Some might be happier to take you on if you are working, but on a low wage.
