Can you help a non-Londoner with ULEZ please? I don’t think we need to pay. Is this right?

Apologies, I obviously live in a countryside bubble, but this is all new to me.

So, today we drove dh’s old (and therefore chargeable) car from Oxford to White City and passed the signs. I have googled and am now more confused than before. Partly because I don’t know where the congestion zone area is. And also I’ve read that outside of the congestion zone area, ULEZ is not chargeable until 2021. I’ve looked on the tfl website and i think it says we don’t need to pay.

Before we get a fine, is this correct?

Thanks for any guidance.

All you need to do is go to the website (TFL?) and I put your car registration. It will tell you straightaway

White city is definitely outside the congestion zone

Thanks MogMogMog. I gathered that from the map, but really could do without a fine. And we definitely passed signs on the A40 (Westway?), and google maps navigation said we had to get off “at the next turning to avoid a charge”. I think it’s jumping the gun!

Dacron - I did that and his car is chargeable if we entered the chargeable zone. That’s what I was checking. I’d never even heard of it Blush
